Honestly though, I’d prefer it be reiterated many times that he’s sufficiently mechanically inclined to be able to modify the kit to the point of it not blowing up his engine. Wouldn’t want someone to think they can do the same thing as a bolt-on. If that means having Spiral mention 6 times that he’s an engineer, I don’t care. As long as the point gets across, then it can potentially save another engine from some guy thinking the PES kit is a viable option “as is”.
lol anyone who thinks the injectors or the tune or the (you pick it) are what is holding the PES M90 kit back needs to
a) read a compressor map
b) understand power to weight ratios and their effect on performance
The M90 is good for maybe 450 hp net of losses. That’s at the crank. Throw it on a 3800 lb AWD car, and if anyone is confused about why it runs 12.5 @ 112 they need their head looking at. No it’s not the injectors. No it’s not the tune (although it can certainly hurt). It’s the M90. It is maxed out. Throw all the fuel you want at it…you’re not going to wake up more CFM out of the M90.
I guess they don’t teach common sense at engineer school? He’s wasting a lot of time polishing a turd, even if it was a cheap turd. He could be doing better things with that time.
yeah, I used to be in the 'if he can get it running for like $2,000 and can make 450 hp out of a formerly 340 hp B6 S4, that’s pretty solid. That’s going to hang with most OTS K04 B5 S4 guys on pump gas etc.
However now that I have seen all the shit he has done and that he has changed all the injectors etc…he’s starting to get deep financially into exactly what you described…polishing a turd.
Bensti, I don’t know anything about him other than the bits I come across here. I think most were not favorable which is understandable.
I’ve been visiting the b7 section more often and I stumbled upon Bensti’s car. I was quite impressed. I was surprised how good those volks look on an RS. I always felt the volks didn’t match up well with the B7’s. RS’s look so fucking good on a track and I’ll admit his looks real solid. Sorry if the link below has been posted, I only put it there for the pics.
