Yea but I was simply saying : down pipe offerings on JHM’s website. (And was implying b6/7 since it was the topic at hand)
I knew the B8 had the massive (but effective) cats where they were. But it doesn’t look like JHM offers any down pipes for the b8 s4 or s5. At least on their website.
OP is told Piggies are good for engine health, esp when tune is added. Guess this logic is best:
most aftermarket h/f cats are mounted in the “pre” position on d/p’s, just as mine are… i ran the tune for a while on the stock exhaust before i installed the d/p’s and had the c/b made i do not believe you are risking damage to your engine because you are running stock d/p’s, before you go believing too much internet hype, call Jake at JHM and he will tell you the correct info
Guess it’s just coincidence that on every car JHM has touched, precats is one of the first things they look at. And the coincidence that the only thing they did when running the S/C kit for the first time was to gut the precats but not touch any other part on the car. Also coincidence that JHM doesn’t even list a DP option on their website that has any cat in the precat location.
This might be the first technicality I’ve ever seen you miss. Literally. Not ragging on you, just rather there’s never a reason to question ya bc the facts are always in line behind ya! Whoopie!
Sorry, qualifier being for the b6/7 section. Does the B8 have an offering with em up top?
Edit:
So did a search on their site. Looks like the only aftermarket HFC dp with a cat in what would be the precat location is the A4 1.8t. But the total length of that pipe is only ~2.5’ and the second half has a bend to it.
So unless I’m missing something. There isn’t a dp on their site with an active cat in the precat location other than the A4 1.8t
