wow i didn’t know taxpayers were pitching in to keep stasis afloat. this was also interesting:
Also in 2012, STaSIS was thrust into a federal bankruptcy case because the company’s former vice president had financial ties to a convicted money launderer, Osama M. El-Atari, a former Virginia restaurateur serving a 12-year prison sentence.
A federal bankruptcy trustee overseeing the recovery and liquidation of El-Atari’s assets asked STaSIS whether the company would buy back more than 100,000 shares in company stock — valued at $250,000 — once owned by Mike Firetti, STaSIS’ former vice president of business development. Firetti was a business associate of El-Atari.
STaSIS officials said they didn’t know about Firetti’s ties to the convicted money launderer. Firetti has said he invested money for El-Atari but had no connection to El-Atari’s fraudulent dealings.

Yet another disturbing use of tax funds.
Thanks, I was trying to find that specific video earlier. I know they are pushing the borla because they don’t like JHM, but I don’t think I even referenced JHM. Was just saying ANY 2.75" exhaust will be better.
it’s funny but ‘they’ (daytona RS4, badbluers4) either have JHM exhaust (Daytona already does) or will be buying it in the case of BadBlue who said that recently.
I don’t think they’re arguing against much there. Just being argumentative in the case of Daytona. bad blue was just trying to check facts (incorrectly ironically)
I believe their best 1/4 mile times were in the mid 13 range. Not sure what mods they had…basic stuff like piggies and Milltek etc. Pretty funny stuff. If we DA correct their times to 0 feet, they’re still in the 13s, a full 1/2 second (5 car lengths in the 1/4) behind my car and a full second (10 lengths) behind Mistro.
“The action that took place was part of a strategic plan and discussion for the company that had been going on for two months,” said Ted Rozsa, a Canadian philanthropist and STaSIS’ chairman. “We’ve put the company in an administrative management state. … We are doing that while pursuing strategic alternatives for the company.”

I’m sure this is a genuine recommendation, and not biased at all…
lol I see that kind of stuff all the time and it always makes me chuckle.
Hahaha wtf.
Very subtle.
Hey guys, never been to Toronto but heard about this great shop called Almost Racing. Talk to Philip K! He’s the best!
Here’s some lulz. Made the mistake of posting on golfmk6:

whenever the tuner says this…RUN.
While going to the 1/4 would be nice, drivability, dyno testing, road racing and or AutoX is the priority over straight line acceleration testing
drivability - WTF is drivability? Does anyone write a tune that isn’t drivable? If so , who the fuck is buying it?
dyno testing - lol
road racing - because that’s a true test of acceleration with no variables!
autoX - again, everyone loves a parking lot fake race track result to determine performance delta
These idiots that throw this shit around are trying to distract everyone. Nobody wants a 1/4 mile time to see how they will do in the 1/4 mile…they want the tuner to show it to prove how well the car is fucking accelerating. To show his product’s delta.
I think the DM tuner used to work for apr. They were flashing some pretty dyno numbers which boosted their popularity recently.
Update, DM is a joke lol. After seeing their response I have no idea how someone could trust that software.
This may be a misunderstanding.
We prefer road courses/AutoX for the simple reason that it pushes everything further. Straight line acceleration is not testing component protection, it’s not putting considerable strain on anything that’d allow good data collection. What is even better about testing through a Road Course/AutoX is that drivability is measured, throttle response is measured, torque model calibration can be more thorough. None of the above can be measured in a 1/4 mile acceleration test.
For proof of the calibration, it is preferred to use a dyno. If the torque curve is more linear, makes better gains underneath the curve then the car will be faster and drive smoother. The shape of a dyno curve, the delta from before/after results is much more repeatable than acceleration testing. We can post up incredible times which will probably never be repeated or we can post up our TSI dynos and they’ve been repeated (or exceeded) on multiple occasions.

just tell him something simple
- every other performance car platform (AMG, Audi, all domestics, GTR, Lamborghini turbo kit makers etc) uses 1/4 mile to measure acceleration
- every other major VAG tuner (i.e. GIAC, APR, REVO, JHM) uses 1/4 mile to measure acceleration in their marketing to show delta
- every periodical in the country uses 1/4 mile to measure acceleration
- every auto-maker uses 0-60 and 0-100 to measure acceleration
But…Driver Motorsport wants to use an autoX.
How is an autoX proving ANYTHING to the market? The market is asking you for acceleration proof. Not to change how you do your own internal testing of IAT management. The market is asking you to show performance so that they can compare it to the defacto standard acceleration test. Simple.
Then mention that the only companies who rebel against the 1/4 mile are usually doing so for a reason…and it’s rarely because their parts work well.
