lulz on other forums (current, not classics)

mmmboost is a moron

if the keith guy makes a 112 work…good for him. unfortunately it makes enough torque to kill a 4.2 MPI chain motor. Which he will find out.

The problem with the B67 S4 sc kits is not that the M90 is too small or PES is bankrupt. The problem is the engine is not very strong so you need to protect the fuck out of it. M90 is fine but you can achieve M90 results with bolt ons, so why bother. M112 is a good size but is ificient and as mentioned makes enough torque to kill the motor…and requires a custom kit. If this guy makes it fit…great. Who will tune it? As we saw, picking a nice power making blower and making agreat kit doesn’t guarantee success. The largest Audi tuning company in the world charged $18,000 and failed at adding a TVSr1320 to a B7 RS4. Car went stock fast. They had to call in another company to tune it for them (JHM).

Ironically, that company (JHM) sells a $8000 supercharger kit for the B67 that takes all of this info into account…and is a simple install that has been laid out for you. They’ve run it on their own S4 for 5 years now. Anyone who tries a custom M112 instead is a cheapskate who will learn that he will eventually spend the same as a JHM kit when all is said and done, and his car will be less safe, and in all likelihood, slower. Not to mention out of commission for the next 6 months-1 year while he ‘completes’ the build.

I have no problem with the guys need to tinker and problem solve…I do have a problem with the idiots speaking of “platform advancement” and for other interested in using this as an option in the future. That talk is just retarded.

OP asks a valid question in regards to jerky shifting in his S5 in S mode and gets ‘educated’ by another user who informs him that sport mode is there for track driving.

That’s what happens when you ask the right questions in the wrong forum.

Dealer misdiagnosis results in the guy having an extra transmission for sale. The kicker is the actual root cause!

Yeah, I felt bad for Dave.

That is crazy, and definitely not funny for the guy.

Doesn’t the dealership have to stand behind its recommendations? You would think they would be on the hook for something, after making such a huge error.

Ouch. He may have sourced the used transmission himself… leaving him on the hook.

Must have been

Only if they end up doing the work.

Also a lot of the time there is a miscommunication between the service adviser and the tech when giving recommendations. For instance a tech would say to start by asking for diagnosis time for A, then move to replacing B or C, and then finally replace D if all else fails.

Yeah, interesting.

Depreciation plus the cost of aftermarket parts costs the guy about $20k USD for one years ownership of a B8 A4

People keep going on and on about the maintenance of the C6 S6 or other older Audis. They don’t realize that the biggest loss on newer cars usually comes from depreciation.

An eight year old Audi may cost more to maintain than a newer model, but most of them have hit pretty close to rock bottom on their pricing.

^ I never cease to be amazed at people’s lack of financial skills.

People bitch about a $300 repair bill, but don’t blink at being upside-down on a car that they financed 100%. Don’t even get me started on time-value of money.

I worked with a lady who bought a new car because she didn’t know how to shop for tires.

That kid is an idiot, why would he even be bitching? Take a look at his imaginary garage

2012 Porsche Carrera 4S, '15 Macan Turbo, '15 GT3 (Ordered)

Exactly. When I bought my RS4, vs keeping my S4, I did a nerdy spreadsheet. I included maintenance, modifications, etc…but I also included depreciation. I always do that when making a purchase. One of the reasons I went with the Rs4 was because I felt it wouldn’t depreciate much compared to other similarly priced cars. For perspective, after 4 years, my RS4 has depreciated about $14,000. aka $300 a month. aka a new Civic 4 year lease rate.

Yeah that guy is a fucking tool. Posted some shit about buying an RS5 and then turned around and said the dealer sold it underneath him. Okay dude. ::slight_smile:
