lulz on other forums (current, not classics)

Interior is also horrible, specifically the center console.

YES!!! Hahaha, I saw the RCF at the DC Auto Show and the thing I hated most was that center console with weird lenovo touchpad thing. The analog timepiece at center throws EVERYTHING off too.

The LFA served a huge purpose…to re-vamp Lexus as a performance brand. It has worked to an extent. They now have the F models and F-sport models.

Unfortunately the LFA took too long, and by the time it came out it was 4x the price of a GTR and no faster.

Yup exactly where I sat in it…you can’t really tell how 3D the console is in picture, but in person, it looks bizarre.

Speaking of Lexus, I saw the new RCF a few weeks ago. Think I commented previously that the design concept didn’t look that bad. But after seeing it in person, the grill is really obnoxious. Not sure I’d ever get used to it. The old ISF looks much better.

I took a Tesla P85D for a drive this weekend. Turns out I’m not in the market for a full size luxury car. I thought it would be sportier. Honestly I’d rather have a Macan Turbo if I was getting a larger car like that.

I think they’re shockingly ugly. I can’t figure out what they’re trying to do.

LFA
GTR
Any honda or Acura other than the NSX
Any Lexus today
Any Subaru

they’re all hideous

I had an IS300 and it was beautiful, and great inside. A bit small. The next generation looked great, and I don’t mind the current one. But the IS- F? what the fuck…it seems like an afterthought and that bulbous hood with that sloping nose, and the complicated ugly rear valence and tips…no likey.

The RCF is ten times worse.

I’m just annoyed they’re RWD. Make these things AWD already. They’re 470 hp. WTF is RWD good for.

I have seen the newer front ends of Lexus described as taking the pinch tool in Photoshop and running it across the front ends. No idea why anyone thought that was a good look.

And I agree on the IS-F I don’t think I have seen an uglier rear valence and tail pipes.

OEM clutch and flywheel blown up because not using “heel-toe” downshifting? Excuse me?

Wow, I guess all those RS4 owners around the world who don’t heel-toe every time they down shift (i.e. probably more than 90% of them) must be going through clutches and flywheels like mad…

edit: you should have mentioned that was gibsonL aka daytonaRS4 aka gibby pinhead.

[quote=daytonaRS4]Heel-toe in the RS was very difficult for me due to the pedal spacing. It helps to preserve the drivetrain vs engine braking so it’s certainly something that is helpful both on and off track. I never focused on it until I blew up my OEM clutch and flywheel prematurely due to not using heel-toe. I had SRP make a custom gas pedal for me that is a little wider and longer and it’s been awesome. I think it was about $70. It’s still easier in my e36 but it is a substantial improvement from stock, which I was never able to consistently/properly do.

yeah, i need a new one every week from not heel toeing. lololol. These guys are the greatest. Their clutches blow up because their engagement technique is shit and they’re frankly terrible drivers. We should post the video of him and jabroni dragracing BMWs on city streets. You should hear the frigging shifting…abhorrent. They’re bouncing off the rev limiter, slipping the clutch on each gear change…just awful, amateurish shit. It’s like they’ve never driven a manual car before.

I saw an RS4 owner say on AZ on the weekend that someone told him his exhaust drones around 1500 RPM because his mufflers are round and not oval

actually no, it’s because you have a 4.2 V8 and a free flowing exhaust without drone interception, and that’s the range where it drones

The F80 M3/M4 has a horizontal oil cooler where the front lip skid plate should be. When you scrape it, engine goes boom.

Haha, WTF?!?! I read through the first page and lost interest afterwards but can someone educate me on why the radiator is parallel to the road?

Whats the science behind this?
