lulz on other forums (current, not classics)

If they’re making a 1900 kit that’s pretty interesting. Seems to be the hardware de jour.

VF wanted $13,500 or so for the RS4 kit using the M90. they will want $17,000 for this.

AMD is going to have a 1900 kit that is around $10,000 but all on stock fuelling, thus limited to around 420 whp or so they say.

APR uses the TVS1320 and delivers similar power, but they are asking $13,000 or so. That price will surely drop a bit to meet the market (if they continue to produce it).

APR is however going to offer a TVS1900 kit soon enough for the RS4/S5/RS5/S4(B8)…and I reckon they will want to charge up around 16,000 for that or so. Maybe 18,000.

AMD will have their 1900 kit with fuelling upgrades and cooling set to make plenty of power…but not sure how much they will ask considering they are going to ask around $10,000 for the 420 whp kit.

JHM will also offer multiple versions of their kit but we don’t know much about that. Probably like the S4 kit in that they will have a non-intercooled version first.

All of this will be interesting.

definitely interesting, good to see well picked blowers finally… all that arguing back in 2009/2010 finally paid off lol

that wasn’t arguing…that was needless hating by everyone beem. We were all just jerks who don’t know anything because we’ve never built our own big power cars. It was our hating that made the M90 kits slow, not the fact that the blowers are more appropriate for a 3 litre V6.

Oh, and because you drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee rather than a 500 whp Tial B5 S4, you don’t know much about performance cars. Just FYI.

shit, ya got me… lol

This all makes it clear that JHM’s B6/7 S4 supercharger kit is a frickin’ steal in terms of the before/after delta. What was it, like $9k or something?

They have lowered it after I got mine. The new price listed is $8,900 retail and $8,500 special intro price.

I drove axel’s car last night. It would crush my Rs4…and they are still working out some bugs in his ECU. I made a pass in his car while it was fully heatsoaked, and even though I’d never driven it before, it was still a tenth and 2MPH faster than my RS4s best time on the night (when my RS4 was ice cold and running it’s fastest)

Right before the pass I made in Axel’s S4, I made a pass in my RS4. The difference in those two passes, both ‘warm/hot’ cars rather than nicely cooled down, was around 4 tenths and 3 MPH.

$8.5K, that’s a steal!

All I can say is…wow…what an asshole Ed lee (raudidriver) was in this thread.

A guy in Quebec with an rs4 with stretched tires and nineteen inch wheels that Ed lee would always trash task crashed his car. So what does Ed do? Say “fuck dude that sucks…hope you are ok”?

Nope. He creates a thread and trash talks him some more even though he doesn’t even know if the guy is dead or what not.

What a Jerkoff move by that little munchkin voiced jackass

Then the CSI team at quattrofail does their crash analysis and then gangs up to kick the guy a few more times. Real classy.

I saw that. Pretty low shots as far as I can see. So what if the guy has different tastes and maybe made an idiot of himself on the forum or whatever else. You have to be a bit malicious to sling shit at someone when their life could have been in jeopardy.

Be a grown ass man and show a little class and leave the personal attacks for another time and place.

What an asshole!

fucking tools…

This thread must be killing some of the guys who live to go postal on JHM lol.

In all seriousness I think it was a great idea to create the thread. I semi had the same plan but I had limited it to the clutch/flywheel. When this site first popped on my radar I did something similar regarding the tune but it didn’t get very far. Either way I’m glad Blake started that thread, it will help the community.

I’ll suggest everyone adds which version tune they have as that may be interesting to see as well.

Well, that thread is a great indication of how when a few people complain, they complain loudly…while many more happy people sit quietly in the background and say nothing.

It’s good to get perspective on what the community’s impression of a product really is, rather than what a couple of people who had problems think. Goes both ways though…if something is truly terrible, we should hear about it.

The JHM clutch problems on the RS4 are interesting. I know that a bunch are definitely installation related as the JHM install is a little different to what most shops have been exposed to. It’s not splitting atoms, but they make the system to very demanding specs…and if installation isn’t done properly, it can lead to problems. I also know that the stock system has some design problems of it’s own that relate very closely to some of the problems the JHM customers complaining have had…so someone needs to do more research and find out if it is a problem with stock hardware etc. that is causing some of the non-install related problems.

mick’s complaints are just convenient. He loved it loved it loved it having JHM parts…then suddenly when he joined team ebwerks and decided to wage nerd war on me, he hated everything about JHM. He even threatened JHM that he’d trash them on the forums if they didn’t distance themselves from me. I think he’s legitimately nuts. Way too far gone.
JHM exhaust - he first loved it, and loved the sound. Then after joining team ebwerx he said it was terrible quality (even though he sold it as ‘excellent’ and the buyer told me directly that it was indeed excellent, and his fab shop friend marvelled at the quality)
JHM tune - he loved his tune when he was dynoing 360 WHP, but suddenly hated his tune when he joined ebwerks. He blamed a ‘weak version’ that caused him to run 13.X @ 110+ but conveniently cracked off a 12.4 once JHM gave him launch assist on an identical tune
JHM clutch/flywheel - he loved it…wrote an email to JHM that it was great and flawless after 20,000 miles and half a dozen tracks days and that he shouldnt listen to anyone. Convenient that he claimed it ‘failed’ right when he joined team ebwerks.

What I doin’t get about the clutch complaints from the track day guys…why are they willing to $1000 in rotors and pads every 5 track days…or destroy $1500 in tires every 5 track days…but they freak the fuck out when their $1500 clutch/flywheel has a failure after 5 track days? Is it just me or is there a disconnect here in expectations? I don’t believe anything mick says, so we shouldn’t use him as an example, but guys who blow their engine on a misshift at a track day…is that the tune’s fault or Audi’s fault? no? Well why are the guys who are roasting their clutches at track days always so quick to blame someone and not look internallly at their own behaviour?

wow…it is my fault, apparently, that mick was a jerk to that guy who crashed his RS4 (the one Ed Lee/RaudiDriver/munchkin-man started multiple threads about to kick him when he was down). Can anyone see how the fuck I have anything to do with that? Or why this lunatic is now attacking NY07RS4, probably the nicest, most balanced guy on any forum on earth? Man this is nuts.

http://forums.quattroworld.com/rs4b7/msgs/87222.phtml

As I said above…he’s way too far gone.

That was some read. NYRS4 - some very dignified and well thought out responses there.

I like how someone claimed QW was the only place to learn and add to. Lol.

Can someone post on there the hype generated on here about the TTS supercharger? Or jfonz’s successes with the Tials? Or the love on here for the APR B8 goodies? They see only what they want to see.

I want to go back in time and un-read this thread. What a fucking retard.

This is the reason lots of tuners got out of the B5 game…moron kids buy the cars and can’t really afford them or to “do it right”. Then you get threads like this one.

Almight JHM!!

It’s funny, cause people have no idea how much time, effort, and experience have to go into developing a great tune. Honestly $500 to me seems pretty cheap considering I spent almost $1000 just to get the software and computer to be ABLE to tune my old, cheap ass, 88 mustang. I learned real quick that you can’t just throw a tune together and expect it to be worth a damn. And I’m not talking about a technological beast like the present day Audi’s etc!!

My hat goes off to JHM and any tuner worth their salt.

How much are these other idiots paying in dyno runs all the time??

Screw the dyno, get a good tune that you can TRUST has made you power.
