they had 1 B5 on a trailer with no bumpers on it (B5 class) and they were pushing it by teh end of the night. They ran it no clocks which makes NO sense because the drivers of that car hadn’t a clue what they were doing half the night…so it’s not like it’s a bracket racing beast that they want kept quiet. And it’s not like it’s a big money street racing car when the driver can’t launch it (see video here), which is the only other reason you’d run no clocks.
This was around 12.2 @ 120 at best. You can hear he doesn’t get too far into fourth by the time he crosses.

The problem is you’re dealing with some 22 year old kids who don’t realise how little they know. They don’t understand that anyone who has spent any time at a dragstrip realises they’re full of shit and their excuses don’t hold water. A 600 whp car doesn’t magically become a 14-15 second car because someone from the other team was watching you practice. It’s just a slow fucking car. And that’s fine…but when you spend 2 years talking mad shit about how fast your car is gonna be…and then fall on your fucking face, it’s karma in so many ways.
Oh and for the record, they did carpool…corbett drove. Not his RS6 because AMD is holding that car hostage. Not his B5 because who the fuck knows where that even is. No, it was an old busted Jeep cherokee they piled in to. There’s another reason. I told Tim to bring his car to Milan so we could race the prior weekend. He knew I was coming and he knew Kurt would be there too. He also knew a group of AR guys were going to be there so they ran no clocks to avoid more embarrassment. Kinda makes me wonder why Dante didn’t do the same? I didn’t even see the 20 second shit show. And they were making fun of my worst passes that were still over a second faster than his best. Now that’s funny.

Another funny thing. isn’t homeless martin the one that works on all of these incredibly slow cars. So dante drove all this way and kept saying his shifter was why his car was slow. We know that his car is slow because its a piece of shit but still. Wasnt his big excuse that his shifter was out of alignment. If thats his excuse that the shifter was out of alignment that would mean that none of those guys there even homeless martin the wonder mechanic who put 14quarts of oil in tims b5 and drove the car that way knew how to adjust a shifter. So none of them knew how to adjust the shifter… No wonder these guys are always angry. That kind of stupidity would be embarrassing
The shifter excuse was a bunch of bullshit. The car is just slow. There may be other problems, and that’s likely with a 2.7t but at the end of the day, we know it was as slow as a stock B5 2.7t in first and second gear, so blaming the shifter doesn’t hold water.
Sure it works on their b5 buddies who are always ready to embrace an excuse but for anyone who has a clue, that car wasn’t capable of running 13.99 or better even if the shifter was buttery smooth.
OK so they ran it no clocks the first few passes till they had it dialled in and the plan was then to throw a great number very down?guess that didn’t happen since it ran no clocks all night.
I didn’t understand what they were doing. They’d drive it to the staging lanes and then turn around and run back to the pits like a scared turtle everytime our cars would show up. I saw that guy make more passes down the staging lanes in the wrong direction than I did down the track.
They had one run that looked legit fast. The guy missed fourth gear though.
At the end of the day if they ran something excellent we’d all be impressed. I don’t give a fuck who tuned it or built it. I just like seeing cars that actually perform.

Odd…the B8 and the RS4 do just fine thanks. How about the fact it’s a tiny V6 and when you big turbo it, you’re in a power/torque hole that the car doesn’t like to dig itself out of until 4000 RPMs
