Ya he is a trip. PM me if when you come in…I can’t guarantee I’ll still be here, I have a few jobs offers I’m waiting to here back from. I may actually be up in Frederick, MD soon so maybe we could meet up then too.
Ya my Aunt and Uncle have lived up there for about 25 years (Frederick) so I’m pretty familiar with the area. I was actually just up there 2 Fridays ago for an interview in Columbia with an RF Test Equipment Company.
The B6 with JHM tune and proper exhaust should handily beat a K04 B7, especially if the race is over 50 MPH.
The K04 is a nice spooling turbo that coughs and runs out of steam above 4000 RPM.
Here’s eric Paul Young’s B7 A4. Nice looking torque hit early…and that’s it. It just goes downhill from there. So if you want to race him in like 4th gear from 2000 RPM, he may have a chance. Anything else, and he would have his hands full with a stock B6/7
vinny.dtw, a classic K04 B6 A4 troll who was always saying his car was faster and that the S4 is just an A4 with a V8, was one who learned the hard way not to shoot your mouth off. One of the old school JHM tuned B6 S4 guys put buslengths on him.
I don’t follow the 1.8t or 2.0t scene much anymore, but I so know the capability of the K04. Not to mention I looked at his build thread and he has issues with the tune and injectors right now…
I just thought it was funny because he came into the UM thread…he is local to this UM tuned S4, but wants to see how he stacks up against a JHM tuned S4. Maybe he’ll meet me half way…lol
It’s very funny…especially when it’s the UM thread about how great the UM guy is at tuning…and then we find out his car is belching black smoke and running mental rich.
Now the tuner is telling him to ditch RS4 injectors and switch to S3 injectors, because it will be easier to tune.
Haven’t posted any real updates on that build thread in a while, tune is in good shape, just want to clear up rs4 injector black smoke issue but it isn’t hindering performance, ill have to put it on the dyno and let you guys see the numbers, I’m confident I give you Jhm guys quite a show. Raced quite a few Awd Evo and subie guys with dyno sheets in the 300-315 whp range and won doing rolling 40-100 pulls! I am more than happy to do some pulls with you S4 boys and girls, your not to far away from me so let me know and we can do some pulls

Some info from his build thread…
I hit 260whp, I talked to Paul and he said if I had opted for pistons and rods I would be around the 300 mark, he said they turned down the tune so I wouldn’t blow a a rod threw my block
After this dyno his motor blew…
As Far as I know this is not the first FSI tune he has done but it is the first 2.0t b7 k04 tune he has ever done
To this day he is still having issues, but going to the same shop. I feel horrible for this guy. He has rods and pistons upgraded with a K04 and hasn’t been back to the dyno so no new power figures. But he is ready to take on JHM tuned S4s…because he kills 300whp evos and subarus

-guy buys car at jhm bbq, gets jhm tune with it
-b5 guy comments that he wasted his money
-b5 clarifies he wasted his money b/c a 4.2 tune only gives you 5hp
