the DSG fart scared me when I test drove a DSG B8 3 years ago. It felt like something fell over in the trunk.

On another note, there have literally been dozens of people on the forums with mechatronics failures. WTF

^^ ya that doesn’t inspire confidence. 2010 was the first year they used this version of the DSG - but I do not recall whether the mech failures are limited only to that model year. sounds like a costly maintenance for td1 guys.

Anyone notice Arin’s amd 0.9 vs Apr graph… And the reaction from the amd guys?

Basically the graph showed the opposite of what the amd guys were all claiming… Which is that the 1900 would dominate low end torque wise over the 1320

Low and behold on a pnw dynojet run on a stock + Apr car on 92 vs the recent dynojet of the amd 0.9 car on 92 with Catless aftermarket downpipes, the Apr tvsr1320 dominated till about 7000, and the amd kit took over from 7300 to redline (not a huge difference though.

Anyway the amd guys are thanking Arin for posting the information and saying things like “that was big of you”, as if the information is bad for Apr lol

Hmm… Better area under the curve for 90 % of the dyno range for Apr vs the 45% larger blower on the amd kit, and Apr did so with four catalytic converters with 2.5-2.36" dowbpipes vs zero cats on 3" pipes for amd

…and they thinks it’s bad for Apr? Lolololol

I also say Aussiefag pointing out the stock fueling limits based off the graphs…??? How is he assuming that?
