The 2014 cars are already being ordered for Aug delivery. The b9 a4 will be here not long after that. There would be no reason to have a 6 month run of the b8 rs4…a wagon that Americans have told audi time and time again they do not want. We got the coupe rs5 and the sedan rs7… And we won’t get the wagons rs4, rs6.

I’ve beaten ‘stage 3’ B5 S4s in my stock RS4 and my bolt on JHM B7 S4 before, both of my cars were high 12s cars (the B5s were patchy modlists, stock fuelling etc…). I’ve also been anally raped by them (well sorted ones).

Calling a B5 ‘stage 3’ is a great way to scare lots of people who assume they’re all like JHM’s 10.8 @ 130 car, however reality is most of them are lucky to run 12.5 @ 113 on pump gas. A tiptronic is even slower. The FASTEST EVER tiptronic B5 S4 time is 12.25 @ 118. That was on race gas. Here’s his modlist…no stone left unturned here:

GIAC X L-box, Tantrum Split no-cat downpipes, AWE Twin2 exhaust, Modified Level 10 converter (~3200rpm stall), B&M tranny cooler, TCD, GIAC TCU, AWE ICs, K04/RS6, RS4 oil cooler, fuel pump, 440c Greentops @ 4bar, Apexi AVC-r 26psi spike, 23psi taper, 19" LE37s

Most tiptronic stage 3 B5 S4s are lucky to see the 12s at all.

For perspective, here’s what happened to a stage 3 B5 on pump gas and a very solid modlist (frankenturbos, revised VAST tune, ER SMICs, full AWE exhaust etc) when it went up against an APR TVSr1320 supercharged Audi (RS4), also on pump gas.

That Audi would later run 11.8 @ 118-119 so basically what half a dozen B8 S4 guys have done…in other words that RS4 is nice and quick, but not crazy. It still obliterated the ‘stage 3’ B5 S4.

1 esfo - wants to see an rs5 race a b8 s4. Hoping the b8 will win and he can say “I don’t want an rs5”.
On an equal footing with pump gas, the rs5 will kill the stock b8, will easily handle the stage 1 b8 and will handle most if not all B8s stage two unless on race gas with a good modlist.

A) The guy who has a 9 page build thread on his 2000 A6 6speed project, who owns three C5 4.2 cars (that is me, LOL)
B) JHM, the only company who has a verified working tune for the 2000 A6 6speed cars, and is a company who is pretty much dedicated to the 4.2 development
