The more I spend time in these forums the harder I find it to even LOOK at the other forums when it comes to ANYTHING based on logic, real data, or reasonable discussion of information.
I have had my issues with Arin in the past (all stupid unimportant internet crap) and have personally chosen to work with GIAC (as I have had good interactions with Austin over there). That being said, I RESPECT Arin and APR for the incredible work they have done for the community and give MAJOR MAJOR PROPS to Prime and his incredible pump times with his APR setup! You can’t deny real numbers from a solid guy in the community. Congrats again to Prime and to APR for such an impressive accomplishment!!
Great post by Pete on vendorzine… I wonder what westwest will say?
"Boost can only be maxed out at around 14.3psi on the stock pulley- boost gauge might be a little off.
It’s the fact that Revo runs insane timing maps on both their pump and race files- so extreme that they had to desensitize the OEM knock sensors to be that aggressive.
Revo timing on their 93 file is more than APR and GIAC 100 File
Revo timing on their 100 file will blow the motor. Maybe not on the first time but it will do it.
Revo dissapeared off the face of the planet and has dumped support for this platform. Hence why my father switched to GIAC
Revo never released a pulley bc they probably blew a motor with their ridiculous timing and boost request.
Revo is not like any other tune on the market- they request insane amount of boost which the car can’t meet, timing is dangerously aggressive and warm weather makes the performance terrible.
I have done ample testing with the Revo- much much more than anyone else ever has or will. IMO it’s a great tune with top notch gas in the tank and sub 40 degree weather. God forbid you run this time with crappy fuel in warm weather forget it."
He was warned by several people before he even went and got his Revo tune that Revo and high temps don’t get along, and further warned about the race tune. As much tracking as he does in the high temps he is in, going Revo is just not a smart decision. Apparently he’s getting a CPS which may help some, but IMO it’s just a matter of time before he runs into real problems. I’m not going to feel all that bad for him when his car shits its bottom end and #5 cylinder all over a road course this summer.
