Does the bar have any type of shoulder to keep it shifting left or right? Even though its bolt to the frame it could still shift side to side. The sway bar on my miata used to shift side to side then mazdaspeed came out with a new bar that had shoulders to hold it
When I get under there today to install the links I’ll get some pics to show you what’s going on. But I have the Hotchkis rear sway bar for my car.

Maybe you could get a couple of clamps to go around the bar just inboard (or outboard) of the mount bushings to stop it from shifting. I also have the Hotchkis rear bar but it isn’t installed yet.
A bar clamp would work just as well. Be cheap and easy to throw on. And if you still break links, then stop turning into your driveway at 100mph ;D
Those Stern links use crappy hardware. You easily could have swapped out the broken bolt with some Grade 8 hardware.
It looks like the the 034 links use shitty “economy” end links but it is hard to tell from a pic.
I have a 2011 RNS-E installed in my B7. I paid a forum member who “reprogams” the head unit or whatever to install it into the b6/7 platform and the total cost was $1550. Probably the same guy who did a number of those from the link above. Simple plug and play…pull the old one out, slip the new one in. WAY better than the original lump that was in there. Whereas it is an upgrade and much improved, I feel as if I should have gone with something like what you have…better user interface, in particular a touchscreen and a better smartphone integration.
After looking over everything I’m having a hard time believing that’s what’s happening. I gave it a really good pull and it didn’t budge. I realize me pulling on it vs. a 4000 lb car turning with them but I’d imagine I’d get a little play.

I will probably buy some clamps to test but hopefully the 034 links solve the issue. Also, I live in a completely different area now. No driveway and I avoid steeply inclined entrances like the plague.
I guess I’m just gonna need to find out the hard way. If these start breaking left and right, clearly there’s an issue. I looked all over for the same size bolt as was used in the stern links and literally couldn’t find them anywhere including Grainger.
034 bolt is beefier at least.

Yeah I’m staring to appreciate the new head unit. The only other one that I think would be better is the Dynavin.
installed

If theres no play when you tried pushing by hand then I agree, thats not the issue. My miata sway bar i could push with a finger. I also lube them everyweekend
With no play, Im just gonna say they may just use shitty bolts
The Stern end links tend to break and they break more when you install them on the softer setting for the sway bar. You want to use the stiffer setting.
Also the 034 rear end links look thicker and stronger where they bolt to the cast rear lower control arm.
I wonder how bad the end links will rust.
That’s interesting. It would be something good to right a review on if you don’t break the 034 ones for a while.
How much thicker was the new sway bar over the stock one…any side by side picks. Also if you can I would like to hear your thoughts on how it performs
My thoughts exactly.
Yeah that bolt is definitely stronger with the 034 kit. I actually didn’t realize it was the soft setting I was using but yeah that makes perfect sense looking at it now.
Yeah I plan on doing a write up once I get some miles on the new links. According to JHM’s website, the OEM sway bar is 20mm whereas the Hotchkis sway bar is 24mm. Sorry but I have no comparison pics. Can’t really speak about the performance yet as I haven’t really used it despite it being on my car for 2.5 years. The stern links lasted 5-7 days so for the most part it’s just been bolted to the car doing nothing.
im still really excited to see your car perform. I cant wait till u get some weather and a decent DA.
Did you break your endlinks yet ;D
Me too.
Happy to report the end links are still intact and working great. I think the issue with the Stern set was the design. The lower ball joint didn’t have enough room to move around especially when they were covered in dirt and gravel that built up. So I’m guessing they seized up and broke because they couldn’t swivel. Either way JHM got Stern/PureMS to warranty them and give me a full refund.
The 034 ball joints have much more room to move and are covered with dust boots. The 034 links are a much better design and are also stronger so I don’t foresee any issues with these at all. It’s nice being able to take corners at WOT without the rear outside wheel hop.
As far as videos go:

Looking good for this weekend.
Also, not long before this event which I will be entering. Should be some great footage.
Should be pretty awesome. If only I could push getting out of here by 2 weeks!
that’s should be pretty cool to see. don’t forget your go pro!! you should do pretty well in that, it will be awesome to see what supercars a stage 2 s4 can beat. if it was from a dig youd kill most. itll also be cool to see what kind of speeds u get up to in a half mile.
CARS EXCEEDING 199+MPH:
•Cars exceeding 199+ still must meet the 180+ licensing and tech requirements set forth above.
•Additionally, cars exceeding 199+ MPH require a mounted fire extinguisher, 4-point roll cage, and fire jacket.
•Again, we highly suggest additional safety gear such as a HANS Device, full race suit, fire suppression system, and full cage.
lets hope u keep it under 199 lol.
What’s your ETA to Colorado now?
Yeah pretty crazy. Not sure I’ll be going that fast but we will see. I guess I won’t be competing if that’s the case. Here are the results from the 2014 event.

Looks like the car is down for the count and I’ll be calling PSI tomorrow. I’m assuming they will warranty it as they have less than 1000 miles on them but will be sure to update everybody once I know for sure.
