DU area. Below downtown, north of englewood, west of the ghetto area and east of Lakewood.
It’s pretty cool, you should come to some of the meets, I actually live with Audi guys. Last year I lived with a guy with a b7 dtm 25th anniversary s4, and a pristine 90 s, this year I live with a guy with a b6 a4, stock just a revo tune, and another guy with a stage 3 2.7 allroad.
But we have a ton of meets and cruises, it’s always good fun. I know there’s a few guys on Audizine in the springs, they will sometimes come down, one of the guys has an s6 4.0tt and just hit bandimere…ran 11’s @ 112 or 115 can’t remember. I think it was 112.
Hey to be fair it was all allegation. We never proved it was a real guy, no one has proof it wasn’t a girl. I still think she was a girl, she was crazy just like a woman, and couldn’t drive well just like a woman, and also asked noob car questions just like a woman.
You already had the runners fixed to make it fit, you’re halfway there. Just replace the shitty RAI studs with some inconel ones and some good locking hardware. Or you could get a new one, but then you need a new testpipe to connect to the rest of the exhaust.
I researched inconel and it seemed like the right choice, but I was only able to find it from one manufacturer in 8mmx1.25, and they wanted $140 for 4 studs…So I kept looking and found studs that are made out of A286. I had never heard of A286, so I looked it up and it seems to be even tougher than inconcel, a bit more resistant to heat too, And it isn’t too expensive. So I ordered a set of those, and i’m debating about ordering these.
But I’ve used them before and they totally didn’t work. When I installed them I thought it was a foolproof system, You tighten the nut, you place the locking tab against the turbine housing in the direction that it would loosen, and then snap on the circlip. Well The first time I checked them, after like 5000 mi, 2 of them were loose, I could pick up the locking tab and just move it side to side, with the circlip installed…Then again they did come from RAI…could have been janky to begin with.
I think I’m just going to go with this kit and call it a day. Going to stop by the machine shop whenever these come in and finally call this manifold done.
Interesting, well that’s good to know, the kit comes with it’s own locking nuts, I’m sure full race has it figured out. I’ll try copper nuts if these fail
I would be more upset but those continental dws are the worst tire ever made.
Super bad life
Horrible in the snow, it shouldn’t even have snow rating
Not a tire that stands out in wet conditions, they are quite slick.
And they squeal on every hard turn.
In for the continental tires suck. Worst snow tires ever made. Even there snow specific tires suck for snow. I think it’s people in Hawaii or California that make the tires and test them in Hawaii and California for snow conditions.
Going 90, car started to flail, I knew I blew a tire, just kinda coasted back down to speed, pulled over, yep, tire was floppy…I’m just hoping the wheel is salvagable. This is the passenger front. 4 months ago I hit a massive pothole and I had to replace that wheel…so I’m hoping this isn’t the second time I have to replace it this summer.
Got an alignment today…I think they didn’t do a good job…I’m still not really understanding all of it, trying to read up on toe, but I’m pretty sure toe is real bad still.
I guess its better than what it used to be. At least thats what the sheet says.
Yep Front passenger side tire. I’m not sure, this was my first tire blowout, but I feel like I am able to feel the front wheels much better than the rear wheels.
Yeah…idk. I don’t think it was very violent, Maybe if the tire burst in pressure into tons of bits, but this one just blew a hole in it. Basically I was driving then noticed I needed way more gas to keep my speed, let the steering wheel go, it was pushing to the right hard, figured my tire was toast. But it wasn’t really hard to keep it straight
I had a rear blowout on a Taurus rental in the early '90s. Going around 80mph on a highway near Pittsburgh. Everyone in the car thought we were going to die.
BANG. Swerve left, swerve right, slow the car to the shoulder and change the tire.
