My B6 S4 JHM SC Install

Good stuff. It’ll get louder after about 5k, but nothing like a twin screw or anything. But you can def hear something is a little different with my car at idle after a while, when it was first installed it just sounded kinda like a noisy serp belt (not squeal, just loud).

Good luck getting used to the sensitivity and that throttle blade opening up. It’s not bad, but very different, as soon as that glad cracks open the car is ready to go!

congrats Speed! cant wait to see your impressions when you first give it the beans.

the sensitivity is just insane with this tune. i thought the s/c would slow down throttle response for sure but i have to give it to Count because this tune makes the car feel like its a high compression, short stroked, idividual throttle bodied monster of a motor, the throttle response is THAT good.

as for the sound of the blower, with no interior, it sounds like the blower is sitting on my lap. lol Scott drove my car the other day and though something was wrong lol

Yeah, the throttle sensitivity is something. It is almost like when I got the JHM tune, having to re-learn the throttle clutch modulation.

@91 - LOL - I cannot imagine what your car sounds like without the interior. I took a drive in my car with the base of the back seat out and the noise from the exhaust/tires was crazy. With your setup it must be insane.

This makes me want an SC on a 3.0 so much more

I don’t think videos really do the sound of the SC justice. In the JHM video you can kind of hear the faint whistle at idle.

I don’t know about you guys but I want it to be audible

^Like I said, give it time to break in and all. It’s still not loud like a twin screw or the B8’s, but a trained ear definitely knows something is up.

Agreed.

yea, once its broken in for a few thousand miles it gets pretty loud. it just doesnt make a stupid whine under load like the pes or vf kits, the motor and exhaust overshadow the sound but its still there

Stupid whine??? We will have to agree to disagree. Nothing sounds more badass than a Kenne Bell cobra

do not want. Why not put a big SUPERCHARGED badge on the 2 front fenders like the B8 S4 guys if you want to announce it? Fuck that. who cares. Run like you’re supercharged…that’s all that really matters.

I don’t like the supercharger whine. It gets old real quick. Whistle…same thing. I want quite. I was most impressed with how quiet mbgt72’s car was when I heard it running. It was virtually indiscernable from stock.

Twin Screw whine, as 91 mentioned, is lame as fuck. It’s overbearing.

I’m with B6Joe, the whine along with some catless exhaust. That’s just bad ass.

For me the preference depends on what the car’s duties are.

DD - I wouldn’t want the constant whine/whistle. At the same time I never get tired of my loud exhaust. With the windows up it is very tame though so this is why it’s not an issue for me.

Weekend / track car - bring the f’ing noise.

Just my $.02.

Speedetc - any updates? We want VIDS!!!

I bought some B8 S/C Badges and some Whistle Tips “Wooo WOOOOOO”!!! Well. . . I’ve bought one of them at least haha

I agree. If your going to have a whine.
The VF whine literally sounds like the car is struggling with the blower. a KB screem where it sounds like your killing a cat by pulling its skin off is different. Its great but I don’t thunk its fun for everyday. It would get old quick.

I had a Vortech on my mustang. It sounded different then a whine it was a deffinit whistle but it was more harmonious

I can’t really hear a whine on mine. Maybe if I opened the hood and stuck my head in there I might…

Or just stick your head by the foglight…since that would be closer to the blower.

In regards to the noise, I like the fact that it is stealthy. Certain cars the noise of a supercharger is intoxicating, but for this I like the awkward look from people thinking “that doesn’t sound right…” Even my wife picked up on the noise, and she is usually oblivious to most of that stuff. She couldn’t explain it though. She just said it sounds “different”.

I am only 50% there with break in. Be patient ;D.

Ha! Not a chance ;D Just mess’n, I’m just excited so I figured I’d harass you until you finish breaking her in.

I think a great idea would be to take some sunday drive video with in car footage and then put the camera under the hood and see if you can get any noise picked up. I would love to hear how she sounds.

Always good to have the low sound. The only time I want to hear a difference in the way my car sounds is when I buy an exhaust as thats why I bought it.

The blower whine is really cool… when its on someone elses car and you can get out and not have to deal with it everyday

This is so true, it’s like the vid of the sc JHM car against ngng’s I like the sound of the whine for all of a minute then realize it would get really old real quick
