Richi’s are 9.5". My forged wheels are also 19x9.5" (2-piece) and are 22 lbs. I don’t think 20 lbs. is too bad in that size. The standard bearer for me is the TE-37, and those are in the same 20 lb. range.
No doubt you can get lighter, but there are not a ton of options for the B8 S4. I’d be curious to know what you find that weighs much less that will also fit a B8 S4 (not giving you are hard time, but I’ve looked without much luck).
Maybe the OZ Superforgiata, BBS FI, Volk CE28, and some of the forged Advan options, but none of those are offered in a B8 S4 fitment. Most custom forged wheels that are machined from a blank are going to weigh closer to that 20 lb. range once it’s actually done (I’m sure they’ll say less, but once the wheel is done, it’ll weigh close to 20 lbs. or more).
they list weights +/-3% tolarance
19x10 is 17.7 lbs, that’s light
19x8.5 is 16.2 lbs, that’s seriously light
but anyway 20.3 lbs is a good weight for the wheel, just thought HREs would weight 18-19 lbs
It’s just that HREs cost a lot of money, depending on the wheel $1800-2500 (maybe more). At least they stand behind their product from what I’ve read, unlike some other forged wheel companies
These OZ are about $2000 per wheel due to current Euro-USD exchange rate, but are lighter
jran has mentioned a couple of other models that are super light as well, but most don’t have S4 fitments, however S5 fitment is not a problem
Superforgiatas are a very basic design, fancy designs could weigh more to keep the wheel strong
Most flow formed and forged wheels come from Japan, which is also a weak currency against the dollar now. But Americans paying high prices for things in a good economy has nothing to do with exchange rates.
yeah, you just said they were more expensive because of the euro. That made no sense. If anything, you should expect these prices to fall. Dramatically.
