Just be glad I didn’t use my business partners favourite coulda/woulda/shoulda
haha I don’t mind woulda coulda
hey, what was the warranty company? Sounds like the dealer just plain screwed up then. A couple of ways. Good to see you found out now that it is still in the honeymoon phase. Imagine finding this out a year and a half from now?
Can you guys help me understand how a failing fuel pump puts fuel in the oil? Is it pushing too much fuel and washing the cylinders? Seriously asking here. ???
Saki- I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet here
Blackhawk, I asked the same question, apparently the seal leaks/fails, I was told it is mounted on the block, someone with more tech might be able to help fill us in, I have been looking a pics of the 3.0T and can’t seem to figure it out myself
HPFP run off of the cam, right? So if a seal goes bad or something fuel leaks right into the head.
Example of 3.2FSI

Much thanks, that clears things up a lot
No problem, don’t treat it as gospel, but that is my assumption.
Again, these aren’t 3.0TFSI pics, but help with a more visual explanation. EYEspI you should sake them if the bore of the HPFP wore out and caused a leak or what actually failed. It would be good to know to educate members that may have a similar issue in the future.
Thanks Euroswager.
FWIW here is a link to a 3.0 “study guide”. Page 42 shows the HPFP but doesn’t go into any detail.
I don’t know if these will help.

^I love the fact that you just have pics like that already!
Thanks guys, all very helpful info.
I picked the car up from the diagnosing dealer last night, the dealer I purchased it from would like me to take it to the Audi dealer he usually uses for the HPFP repair, I won’t be out of pocket for any of the repairs, as well my original warranty has been cancelled and another being purchased for me with the cost difference being covered by the selling dealer. Purchasing secure drive which is what the Audi dealer would sell if the car were non CPO
Glad you caught it up front pre-tune otherwise who knows how this would have went… Sucks they screwed up on the warranty stuff but sounds like you are getting taken care of which obviously should be the case… Keep us posted!
Thanks Ron, the Audi dealer really liked the shifter paddles I picked up from you, the tech mentioned them when I picked up the car
Nice! I appreciate the positive feedback…
. Had the same experience at my dealer. ;D
how many are out there?
+1
My tech also noticed them, told I must like driving in manual mode, lol.
Saki, 150+ sets…
jeff, lol… Glad you like them…
Holy shit! Awesome.
Where can I view them and get info?
