not everyone thinks that tials suck… I enjoy driving with them.
I think they are pretty potent.
I’m even betting my username on it
Easy there, Sally
Who said tials suck? Nobody did. People just want to see some timeslips is all or pulls against cars we know. Seems lots of the tial/epl/amd scene have bulldog mouths and lots of talk (dynos and praising their setups as best in the game etc) yet they don’t back them up the way they would have to on other platforrms.
Its just odd.
So…k04 guys should build their car with tials in order to see what they can do? Lololol
Wouldn’t be a lot fucking easier if AMD took their own b5 s4 to the strip with a good driver to show the world what they’re capable of? That’s what every other fucking tuner does lol.
Since they refuse (actually does jason even own a tial amd car???), guys on the forums ask their outspoken customers. We figure if you’re excited enough to brag about your dyno sheet, you’d also want to post up a slip. When I had a b7 s4 with jhm mods, I was happy to go to the strip to back up all the jhm praising I would do on the forums, even though I’d never driven a car at the strip. I’m a professional in his 30s…not a boy racer who lives his life a quarter mile at a time as you put it. I just know a timeslip lends instant credibility to claimed gains, so why not go?. The mods were awesome and my timeslip proved that (cut 0.9 seconds off stock ET and added 6 mph for $2500 on an NA car that supposedly ‘doesn’t respond to mods’ according to some peopleh).
I’m always up for a run!
We have alla been on board wtih our thoughts on TIAL turbos from day one.
The sumed up version is the 700whp dyno sheets are jsut that and the 770 cars are all paper warroers unless your racing at 50+MPH
jason@amd is such a scum bag he has no car that he owns and he is testing on customers car with no idea on what the parts are capabile of. Tial 770 cars suck at the 1/4 mile cause tehy are not strong acceleration cars unless your over 50+mph
If you suck at the /1/4 mile yuour car can still show how strong it its. Here is a case of crap drivbing and a car showing its true potential.
Note this is the car CV built and he always said. This car would never go 10’s but it will put down a stong 135+mph. He is one of the gu7ys that actually knew enough about parts to talk about them and there storng points. The issues with the Tails is no one has any knowledge and one of the top guys pushing them (AMD) can’t talk but anything other then takling out his ass.

To follow up on this. CV gave this car to vast and moved on. Afte rhe moved on VAST built som rediculous 700whp car
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG6xSTUUoz4
what this car and the tial cars have in common… they are all failures… This vast car struggled to go 12.3 after already going a impressive 11.4@134…why you ask… Well cause when you have a 2.7 or 3.0T motor and your looking to make 700whp the turbos needed and the lag that comes from them is going to shif the power curve so far out that your not going to be able to do much in 1st and 2nd gear. FAct is yuou not going to be able to do much till 5000rpm in 3rd. Well after the 1/2 way point in the 1/4 mile… So while the 700whp is impressiuve its not when your racing a 200whp civic that is faster down low.
Tials are njota a filure the lack of any kind of real informatuion on them and the people pushing them is the failure. So you
SEXICAN are getting blasted cause the peopole who pushed the parts on most people have geiven you no education on what they are really worth.
So you while your a nice guy stick to dyno sheets telling us your over lay is close to a 10sec porsche and thus your car might be capiable to 10s. When I see your car struggling to go faster then 11.7. The failure is the people not the parts
that video is funny…you can hear the shadow Prince in the background at the beginning screaming lol

Sackofmojo what do you think my car will make at the ground?
That video is great! I don’t think I have seen it before.
^x2 vid is pretty sweet.
you should add those times to the 1/4 mile database as a benchmark.
i have no idea what that means. WHP?
probably push 400 whp or so, bit more on race. Would put you in R8 5.2 territory, power to weight wise. Don’t get upset though
Going in with VP Q16
oh yeah, forgot. CV will squeeze a lot out of good fuel as long as the whole car is sorted.
Give us your modlist again…
ER intercoolers
PJ KO4

crap like that
I think this is a great idea and in part, It seems this is what everyone is asking. Lets get some testing out there. The larger of the issues is people are saying that the companys looking to sell these should have already done the testing if they wanted to sell them… Take a second and step back and see what your asking. Your asking the people with a proven turbo (ko4) to give a turbo that isn’t tested or proven (in some respects)(tials) a chance. The issue is we see what the tials can do and we see what they can’t. I believe the best advancement is to accept the limmits and the great sucuess that is to be had and then move on
I agree, I don’t think anyone is saying tials suck. The tial company is a great company and they make great products. Are these turbos (tials) the best… Well there really good at some things and not so great at others. Once again this is a lack of actual information given to the end user. Lots of talk, lots of videos from thoes that want people to buy them. However little to no actual technical information about them. This leads to a +++++ WHAT JUST HAPPENED +++++++ when the cars don’t perform well in the dead start acceleration test (IE 1/4 mile)
What the community is left with is the section of guys like SEXICAN and others that are getting the trial by fire. When in the end. Its going to be someone like jfonz that is going to work for long hours maybe even weeks on a tune that will give the turbos a fair shot. In the end eveyone ends up loosing if people are not more informed because the product will look better then the tuner if actual understanding of the products and there limits are not defined
Here’s a pbox chart of me doing a rip from 0-60mph in my RS4. Note how long the 1st to 2nd gear change takes. It’s about 0.3-0.4 seconds or so. No powershifting…just me changing gears relatively swiftly. Good drivers powershifting take about half that time.

Now here’s a chart from AMD’s webpage showing one of their 60-130 runs. Take note of how long it takes them to go from 3rd to 4th gear…arguably the easiest gear shift in the entire gearbox. It’s damn 0.7 seconds! Jason wasn’t kidding when he said this…
