you got to admit one thing. JHM has had their prototyped RS4 exhaust out for some time and obviously a design well before EBWerks. I know JHM had their issues with their fabricator but that was somewhat a good thing bc those were not really production type exhausts. Now they are getting FI to build their exhaust based on these prototypes but shit it is taking them longer to get to market than EBWerks. They made some claim about waiting for some type of equipment or something forget exactly what it was they were waiting for…obviously I can look through the previous post…in order for them to do the mandrel bends on the 2.75 inch exhaust. This really sounds like BS because how does some no named two man shop beat them to production delivery with mandrel bent tubing.
We can not say well JHM has other things going on that are more important because FI is the one doing the work and exhaust systems are their business. How can a two man shop EBWerks beat them in being able to deliver a production ready exhaust. We already saw one of them in the pics but based on what I am hearing they have a good amount built and will be ready this week.
Just does not make sense…I dont want to hear about testing blah blah blah…the JHM prototype as I call it has been out for a long period of time. Therefore, the design was testing and so-called proven but they still can not outsource that design to FI and beat a two man shop…WTF. This does sound weak and this is where I give EBWerks credit in beating the big boys even when they tried to block them by not allowing them to use the Sebring mufflers.
I am sure when FI/JHM gets theirs out it will be nice but why is it taking so long. I just do not get it. Lets give Bennie props where deserved. Also, you got to admit that the exhaust pics we saw do look nice…well except for maybe the strange bends near the mufflers.
You shouldn’t believe everything Mick tells you (about fast intentions). That is incorrect
Doing it fast has never been Jhms claim to fame.
Ebwerks hasn’t beaten them to a thing. They fucked up and had to delay their one exhaust for their first customer by two months plus already. On top of that, Ben promised a particular exhaust…right on this site, dynod the prototype…showed sound cthelast minswitched major components and changed the design of the exhaust. Their one customer has no idea how it will sound, out how it will flow. Ghetto fabulous business model. That is called bait and switch 101.
They are just lucky Mick is clueless about performance and is willing to LIE to support their business. If any other company pulled this they would be a laughing stock. Mick would have started the threads About them on every Audi forum on earth. Of course he is their marketing manager online so he will let it slide and lie about their competitors instead.
Why do you think fi is making the jhm rs4 exhaust? You and Mick are the only ones I hear saying that
.
Frankly I don’t care if jhm is selling the exhaust first or not. No rush for stockimano. Clearly jhm Is interested in other stuff or I’m sure they could have had it out by now. They probably just want to do it right, and as I said there are very modest margins in that business so it would make sense that its not worth rushing it out
P.S…I just heard back from the guy who bought micks jhm exhaust. i have been speaking to someone who needs to sell their jhm exhaust ai will likely buy it and so i asked sar what condition his was in when he received it used from mick. As expected Mick got a cannonball blown through his bullshit story. The exhaust was/is in excellent condition from the downpipe flanges to the exhaust tips.
OK…Wait actually I know it is FI because they told me in an email and this was in response to me asking specifically about an RS4 exhaust on May 25th…like I said slow slow slow.

Also, here is what JHM put on audizine on 06/14 about needing some dies to do the mandrel bends…wait I see mandrel bent 2.75" on the two man shops exhaust…just does not make sense how long it is taking for them to get it out. that is all i am saying.
"We do not have an exact ETA for our exhaust at this time. The 2.75” dies have been ordered from Europe and should be in sometime this month. As soon as they are in, we will build the Cat-back and Downpipes on our in house RS4 and then proceed with the pre-sale. That is the extent of the timeline right now. Basically, as soon as we have the 2.75” dies in our hands we will be ready to start producing the JHM RS4 Exhaust and Downpipes and shortly after that, releasing them!
We build our exhaust systems on a CNC Mandrel bender. More importantly, each size diameter of piping requires a specifically sized die to be built. We don’t want to build anything with our new fabricator until we have the specific die for this system. The dies are custom built in Europe specifically for our fabricator’s machine and made to order. Hopefully, they come in this month like specified.
We have an extensive list of those already interested in purchasing our exhaust when pre-sale is available. We will contact all customers on the list at that time. If you would like to be added to the list please email sales@jhmotorsports.com and we will gladly add you to the list! "
It’s actually just a clamp like you said… The whole install was extremely easy. I think once the DPs were installed the CB went in in a little under 30 minutes.
That’s the more money than sense option (unless you got it for free or included on a car or something)…or the ‘I want to make a bad choice just so I can be different’ option.
There are plenty of excellent sounding exhausts out there, before someone argues that it is a sound purchase.
