OEM RS4 has the IAT sensor integrated into the MAF sensor. That sensor is pre charger and pre cooler. We use an OEM IAT sensor from another application.
You can’t supercharge one of these engines without having an IAT sensor after charging and cooling. Well, you can, but it would be a stupid mistake.
The S4 uses two T-MAP sensors (Map and IAT sensor in one). They are located after the charger and cooler, right before the cylinder head intake ports.
clutch will be required at this torque level. The RS4 made 490 WTQ. Or HTQ . HUB. even if you guys make 400 it will be curtains for the stocker before long.
JHM has a great clutch for the B8. Tried it in California. Feels like stock, allows hooliganism. Good times. They have a half dozen on the shelf (well they were on the Thursday but they were spoken for already).
Speaking of, who is the member here from NORCAL with a B8 S4?
Thx for the comic relief, I suppose that you will never let me live that one one down…lol
Joking aside, from my many a conversations directly with APR reps, the CPS will be highly recommended, but not sold as part of the kit. Also, the same goes for an upgraded clutch. Any kind of upgraded fuel pump will definitely not be required, ours are good for much more than this kit will demand. All that in mind, as sold for the B8S4, and for customers with any existing APR stage (1, 2 or 2+)software, will cost less than $10k. I’ve asked in person at many different types of car shows/events, and that’s what I have been told. Unless they find something last minute, that will bump up the price a few grand, that is what I truly believe this kit will cost us (B8S4).
Stop trying to justify this kit will cost around $15k, because it won’t. Like others have stated, it would not be cost effective that this kit cost over $15k, and make only 60-70awhp more than the Stg2+ kit. It seems to me and others, that you are almost hating the fact that this kit could cost $10k less than that of a RS4 kit… be happy for us lmao!
Either that or talk to your connections at JHM and convince them to make a more powerful, lesss expensive kit!! ;D
Are you saying that there’s a group of B8 S4 owners that sit around and discuss my posts privately? And opine on my intentions with starting this thread?
You have GOT to be kidding me. Who the fuck are these people?
I hope the kit costs $2,000. I don’t care, I’m not buying it.
Why… The fuck… Would I not want to see it be cheap? Seriously think about how dumb you sound.
You think I’m jealous the almighty B8 S4 kit may be half the price of the APR RS4 kit, (which I would never buy in a million years) ? Or am I jealous of how fast the APR3 B8 S4 can be?
Hahahahaha you really are insecure. Just be happy with your car for what it is, and don’t be so hung up on what others (me) think of it. This thread was a potentially good discussion on the market price of a LOOOONG anticipated product. That’s all my dear. As you can see it was a few pages of opinion and discussion and a bunch of votes. Other than you acting like a butthurt bitch trying to start RS4 VS S4 drama that is.
Funny, most of the B8 S4 vs RS4 trolling slowed down once TTSMRC launched their 11.4 @ 125 kit (on pump) in the UK. It ground to a halt once JHM went 11.1 @ 125 on pump and APR moved into the 10s on race gas. I guess now that B8 trolls (like you and your mates) have lost any hope you’re now focusing on price trolling?
You STFU, you babble too much. There are two separate discussions here now, which makes the thread confusing. For a stage ZERO (stock) B8S4 owner, the kit will not be 10k or less. That is basically the point of the discussion. I also think it would be stupid to not run CPS or supporting hardware, like Saki mentioned it would be like the stage 3 MINUS B5 guys.
The majority of us don’t care about the APR B7RS4 kit, we are using it as a comparison because the kits are very similar…specifically the charger assembly. Is it a nice kit, sure, but it wouldn’t be the one I go with especially for $20k. I could have a built motor and stage2+ for $7k more.
FYI if JHM does get into the 3.0T game, which I suspect they will…they will probably CHANGE the fucking GAME.
I just feel that maybe the blower suits the higher revving motors better and has smaller performance increases on the 3.0T. Also maybe that’s why Eurocode is building a 8500RPM 3.0T bc maybe that blower only works well at higher RPMs and it’s a side project for APR/Eurocode to maybe do a Stage 4 Setup??
I think with the lack of data that we’ve seen, there’s no reason to believe it’s still a TVS1740. It def can be but my gut feeling is they went with a different setup…
Go look at the RS4 dyno chart with teh 1740, and cut it off at 6900 RPM for fun. Still pretty amazing. It’s not like it doesn’t make amazing area till high RPMS. It’s amazing from 2000 up.
The Centrifugal SC that JHM uses certainly loves to rev high, and that’s why it’s such a great fit on the B7 RS4 and B8 RS5 because the curve just gets steeper and more awesome as it revs out. But these TVS roots blowers don’t need revs.
I think there is still 10% more power to be had with the 1740 after 6200 rpm on the RS4, but APR most likely backed off from it for reliability and safety.
If you look at the TVS 1320 on the S5 at 6200 rpm it continues to gain another 8% or so power till 7150 rpms, even with this smaller blower. So I don’t think it is running out of breathe it is just tuned that way.
Wow, I must have really scratched your sore spot, lol. The others I mentionare no trolls, and neither am I, ever. I was referring to others in this thread, but whatever…whats the point. I just made my point.
I really dont think the insulting me will help you at all, just shows who really is insecure…
Auditude, I think you might be on to something here… im sure the 1740 did not reach the expectations that APR was aiming for. Still, I think it will be worth it to us, who push it all to the limits. For around $9k or so, we can be that closer to 10s.
Im done because im a babble mouth bitch. I will just read from now on…
