Lol that is so true re: prime being the most important driver of APR tune sales. I’m pretty sure my mind was made up on the original tune after prime got it years ago. Ditto for stage II.

My guess is these guys are pulling skywagon specials throwing down blank checks and paying massive labor for all kinds of chit. Buy a 2010 for 27k and then dump 20k in mods overnight. Just like the e85 apr guy. That’s where these “dealers” profit. Doesn’t really work for the guys like primetime who are smart and install parts with their own shops or DIY.

Well, wasn’t there a Eurocode car that got it first? Or was that the ‘shop’ that got it? I remember AZ thread was created and subsequently deleted.

J, Thanks, I appreciate it and I agree but it looks like that won’t happen… More and more people keep popping up saying they are getting it or their dealer has it… Nothing from APR about me getting one…

I thought about your point on AR and I’m sure APR’s not a fan of the site but I think I’ve represented them well over here the last few years. I stay away from most of the drama with the whole crew thing, exhaust, etc.

Will be curious to see results, logs and such as that will tell the story not BS shop claims and dynos…

Sounds like you’ve picked up a nice toy… Just not a fan of the C63 looks wise or most MB’s I do like the new GT car. That sucks about the accident hopefully everything gets fixed to your liking… Enjoy it!

Scott, Like Crown said it still says APR but I think the design has changed since the original but I haven’t taken the time to look… I guess will see eventually how the take it to market… The lack of control on information flow has been a joke but that’s what you get when you’re not in control… People are already talking about getting the blower and having other tuners make a tune which would happen anyway, but even less APR can do about that now I suppose…

Saki, Thanks I appreciate it! Well I was the first person they called… lol Just not since Magnuson is now running the gig… Sucks for me… Also, agreed on Ryan as he and I would put up results asap, but maybe that is the problem?

I think Richi deals with the Eurotech in NJ the one posting is in Vegas…

Yeah, I think they want dealers involved that’s for sure or at least what it looks like… That way they can get lots of nice dyno charts and such as opposed to me who would have slapped it on and immediately did logs and passes… Maybe they don’t want that? What does that say/tell you about it… Unfortuntately, dynos still sell shit so will see how long it is before anyone posts actual pass data… APR still hasn’t made theirs public… I’m pretty sure you’re right it’s not in their control any longer thus these shops making posts and such. APR would have shut that down or never let it happen if they were supplying the hardware IMO… As for dealers by me I have two, remember ECS did the install on my pulley and made the video that pretty much anyone who’s installed the pulley has used, they could have done the same with this… Also, HS tuning is very close but I’ve never had work done by them I did meet most of the crew the night Jeff and I went to Norwalk and we did a bunch of runs on the highway when I ran a bunch of their shop cars. I’d have worked with them also but nope! I’m kind of in a pickle as well since the DSG tune still needs some tweaks and I’d like to think they help on that but if not I’ll just have the dealer flash a stock file as at this point it’s not doing much and probably hurting me ET wise as my passes have shown, given I’ve trapped 120+ I should be going 11.5-6 not 11.8-9 but the shifts are causing the poor ET.

Brandon, Thanks bud! I do appreciate it and glad some feel I’ve helped others. I have no doubt I’ve helped sell APR tunes and such but they’ve been great to me as well so it’s a two way street just wish I could have helped with this…

Drob, I think that is plausible but I think it’s more a way to familiarize the dealer with the product and install along with getting dynos and such before the overall release…

Scott, The Eurocode dude is the first car I heard about… Early on I had thought they shipped to car for APR to write the install instructions but I’m guessing the blower was sent by Magnuson to EC and they did the intstall… Eurocode is always weasling in on the action since they don’t add much value anywhere…

So… I talked things over with my brother last night and I ran something by him that we had talked about previously… We may go in a totally different direction but I need his help and his time is limited… If I go this route it could be an epic comedy really… I’ll leave it at that for now but I’m really leaning in this direction ;D

^^ Nice!! Very curious to see where that other direction could lead.

eurocode is APR’s favourite shop. Eurocode helped APR steal REVO technology a few years ago, if you’ll recall the posts quoting Arin and the fabricator guy in the crew219 thread exposing APR practices. They’ve got a tight bond.

primetime, you’re right, I got my eurotech’s mixed up.

Prime…different direction…I’m guessing even smaller pulley…? I haven’t heard of a blower failure yet, so thats something to try…and given that your brother can machine parts.

Supposedly any smaller would create slippage, someone said something about using high speed cameras, but it’s not an expensive experiment, really. Plus, I’ll bet, there will be a LOT of oem TVS1320s for sale for experimentation in case shit goes wrong…

Looks like Maguson made their initial thread…

  • Buy through dealer… sigh! I hope APR is a dealer?
  • Use existing intake with larger TB? How’s that going to work?
  • 11.3 @ 120! High DA but that trap is not so good… Also, weight reduction and sticky tires… so a stripper like the RS4?
  • 21+psi
  • IAT strategies sound interesting… Bet it pulls timing in any kind of heat…
  • $8950

J, If I don’t get the blower I’d go larger crank pulley and another mod…

I’m not sure that better DA will be too good for the engine. They seem to be pushing the limit pretty good, especially if you consider how close it is to the RS4 times.

Well obviously the air going into the intake side will start cooler but that thing is still going to heat it up… Apparently it has another separate reservoir? Need to see logs to get a better understanding which I doubt will get until a real user who knows how and is allowed to post… The point in the thread that I want to know more about is how much diet was the car put on and what tires were run along with wheel size… 120 is week but the DA was very high however again need to know weight of the car… I like the 11.3 but not 120. Would like to see the full slip not sure we will? Never got the full one from the dsg testing if I remember correctly…

This dude’s a trip… Real good Marketing/advertising… Knows the product and car well… lol Poor APR they don’t get to release the product and all these dealers get to boast about something they don’t seem to know much about… So did this dude actually dyno his car? lol Unreal, this will get good…

How do you not post a time slip??? Sorry, but that right there is a major red flag. I would love to be proven wrong, but a 1/4 mile time without a slip isn’t worth the paper it’s purportedly written on.

You know I was thinking larger crank pulley but I wasn’t sure if it was offset weighted…for sure the crank pulley bolts are keyed since one is offset, which makes me think it may be weighted. Maybe Jake or someone can chime in here…to know if the weighting is offset or not.

I’m sure APR ran a 11.3x probably high 11.3x… But, I’d agree and would like to see the slip as well also to see all the intervals, especially the 60 and 1/8 mph. Weight reduction and sticky tires will help much more down low than the top half of the track thus the low trap, DA is probably knocking the trap down 3ish mph in say 500ish DA maybe 4ish in negative DA IMO… E85 results should be interesting…

Maybe I missed something, but how did they get enough fueling for E85 even on stage II? Higher fuel pressure? I seemed to remember seeing 7-ish ms of injection time even on stage II, which if I remember right means any more and the car is injecting way into the combustion event.

Could that be what Jones has? The jhm overdrive pulley? That would be a power adder of sorts. That would be disappointing that it wasn’t disclosed if so. Although I think only a couple of local customers have that for testing. They’re taking preorders though.

LOL who cares. Who wants to see that timeslip? That’s a horrendous time that won’t sell fucking thing.

I don’t think it’s weighted, the factory pulley does have a white timing mark notched on it, so that’s why it probably has the offset holes.

They had in the mod list for the e85 car, a hpfp upgrade.
