Place your bets...

And here is Eurocode’s sales thread… Always attempting to sell their headers… lol Wonder how many more dealer threads will see over the next few days? To their credit they are offering to ship for free, no tax, and $400 toward install(won’t give to a diy though)… I really don’t want to give these guys my money though… Still nothing from APR… Arin posted a note on facepage just saying “eating popcorn”… Still can’t believe they wanted it to be released this way, heck they didn’t even get to release their own 1/4 mile times…

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/667099-APR-Magnuson-B8-B8-5-S4-S5-Stage-3-hits-478WHP-on-CA-91-octane!!!-Sale-is-on-8950!!!

J, GMG makes the crank pulley but they quoted me a 6 month lead time, which is a joke in any real company’s supply chain… As Saki mentioned I believe JHM is testing them as well… Also, as you’re already aware E85 will require a upgraded fuel pump, Solo’s offering one as is APR…

They call that a product launch? Almost like amateur hour.

Arin/APR at least knows how to properly do product releases/launches.

Headers lol

Why is he eating popcorn?

I also don’t even know what the point of them being involved is… For their tuning server?

Can you just buy the kit with no tuning?

Come on 9 whp is worth $2,155.50 with a $400 install credit right?

prime I dont know what you and your brother have up your sleeve but the shifter paddles you made were great. I would seriously suggest not getting the new blower until you pushed your car. At this point in time APR is still the top company but GIAC seems to have moved into front. The blower might be great but I would pass on it on pure principle. I think if you guys can do something with the throttle body and more boost like you can get with the JHM crank pulley for the 3.0t I would go that way.

I think its great that this new blower is going to make its way out to the public and the price isnt too bad. But I think the gap between where the stock blower can be and where the bigger blower is isnt big enough to make sense. I also think there is still some legs left in the stock blower.

so am I reading that right?

420 whp on stock exhaust
478 whp with their headers and a milltek?

They didn’t really just print that did they? Is anyone going to fall for that? I feel bad if they do. Someone should bump the bank or bust thread we had discussing them.

Also funny

“This is CHP in the 600+” - Leo Alexander, Eurochode

Another random guess.

So 478 = 600 hp+ now? Let’s do that math.

The same guy said the B8 does around 300 whp stock on their dyno. Since audi said the b8 comes stock with 333, that means drive train loss is only 10%. Why didn’t he use that on the dt loss for his modified results? No integrity that’s why.

Let’s say it’s underrated (it is). If we say it has 360 hp stock the dt loss is about 17%

If we apply that 0.83 factor to the 478 whp made up bullshit dyno number where are we…575hp.

These guys are completely devoid of any integrity or sense. Heaven forbid someone should ask them about their math in that thread. You’ll get cited for trolling.

When did Eurotek arrive on the scene? Any connection to Eurocode?

It’s a very confusing product launch. The company supposedly behind the project for the past several years does not appear to have said a word yet, and these dealers are just starting random threads with fucked up math (as sak noted above). Strange.

I think this shows you that Apr may not have been as involved as we were all led to believe.

Magnuson makes the kits

Apr tunes them.

Interesting how we’ve been led to believe Apr was behind the 1320 and 1740 kits. Meanwhile…they were just the marketing guys.

Now they’re not even that.

I wonder if it has to do more with the APR restructure and new ownership

My scientific wild ass guess is:

APR realized they could not get as much power out of the kit as they would like ‘reliably’, and decided to shelve the project. Once the new ownership took over maybe they made an agreement with Magnuson to have them sell the kit, tuned to produce less power to reduce the risk of grenading mortors.

Lol, grenading MOTORS not MORTORS.

That’s a good theory however they are advertising more power than Apr said they achieved.

We heard that APR had blown atleast one motor in the development of this kit. And I see that as a good thing. They tested and found the limits. I dont know whats different here tho. The big gamble is how much more power can this motor take and what are the options of it goes bad. It seems like Audi is putting a 3.0t in like every car now so used motors shouldnt be too hard to find but the question I have is how much power can the stock block really hold

SO…I guess the $10,000 guess wins it?

Or is it $10,000 + fuel pumps + + +?

interesting. I would like to know how much might not be included in the price

So richi is getting one today he said…asked him to drop by here, would be a nice update to the thread.

Looking at the RSW install, it looks like the kit includes the supercharger, throttle body, new intake pipe/hose, some type of reservoir, and the ECU tune. I asked them to confirm anything else on the other site, so we’ll see what they say. There is definitely something different with the fuel line on that car, so I’d like someone to confirm if a fuel pump upgrade is required, included, etc.

I’m guessing the intake pipe/hose is needed for the larger TB, but it looks like it could be used with any intake that uses the stock filter adapter and location (APR, AWE, ECS). The new reservoir appears to just add additional coolant, but either way, I would think a full coolant system would be highly recommended based on the way this engine and tuning respond to increased IAT’s/temps. At the end of the day, you’re looking at something in the $11k-$12k range plus DSG tuning or a new clutch if you so choose (probably needed…). There is still the unknown about a HPFP upgrade too.

The common sense side of me keeps saying it’s not worth the money for what is realistically something in the 50-70 awhp range, and that money would be better spent towards a new car at some point. I keep telling myself I am done with mods to this car, but I guess I’ve been known to do worse spontaneous (and stupid) things before…

Josh, EC had a pic of what all comes with the kit, but don’t see it anymore… I think you’ve summed up pretty well what you get also plugs, some hoses, clamps, etc.

Heard from APR this morning… They will NOT be selling the kit, you have to buy through a “dealer”, which not sure all who that is at this point? Magnusson is also frowning on DIY installs from what I gathered and the car is NOT driveable w/o a updated flash do to the TB so, DIY would be nearly impossible for most…

I plan on making a decision today…
