I think captains old car went a best of 13.0 NA with a good driver launching it hard. ;D

Fair play, I have some work to do…

sweet thanks for the upload!

No problem sorry it took so long. Your car sounds great.

Finally took some time out to hit the strip. Oddly enough, my first run was my best run of the day. Sadly I only got in 5 runs. I got in early, but unfortunately someone took an extended ride at the end of the track when his chute malfunctioned which caused a long delay and after that the lines were just too damn long.

My best run was a 13.723 @ 102.04. My second best was a 13.858 @ 100.32.

Times would have been better if I had a manual, but if I had a TCU tune they probably would have been a lot better. I miss rowing the gears, but as my DD it works for me, although being at the track really made me reconsider breaking my mustang out of storage.

Mods are: JHM 93 Tune, LW CP, LW Rotors F/R, LW Battery, Trex Catless DPs, FI Catback, and Intake spacers. Oh, and the most important mod the K&N panel filter ::slight_smile:

Did you have fun? Most important!

Times and traps are a little off. I’d imagine a tip with those mods should be able to put up a 13.50 @ 105 or so. Maybe better.

My best time is often one of my first 2 runs. Weird how it happens. You get there thinking, ‘ok I’ll just throw down a couple of runs while the car is hot as shakedown passes’ thinking the heatsoaked car from the long ass drive to the strip will mean you suck. Then they’re your best!

Back to your runs - B6 Tip, 93 octane, AVANT right?

Any weiight comments? Full tank? Junk in the trunk? Were you deep staging or shallow staging? What wheels/tires were on the car?

p.s. if you want to do some comparisons, bangoman also has a B6 Avant (Dolphin Grey too lol)

he: piggies with main cats in, magnaflow catback, JHM 93 tune, 94 octane, JHM clutch/flywheel, stock everything else = 13.42 @ 103.95 mph in good density altitude (just about 0 feet, just like when you ran 13.72)

So you’re 3 tenths and 1.9 MPH behind him. He is a manual and was cutting 1.87-1.89 60 foot times all day. That means after literally 60 feet, a long putt on a golf course, he is already more than a tenth in front. So from 60 foot to 1320 foot he only really made up about 1.5 tenths on you. While you’re catless…he has the clutch/LWFW etc. Really mods are going to kind of even up between you two…so the delta is the transmission. Slower launch and a bit more drivetrain loss means he has an edge, but not enough to really worry about.

p.s. contact JHM re their TIp Launch Assist update.

I had a lot of fun, but man I felt rusty. I hadn’t been to that track in about 6 years, and haven’t hit the dragstrip in about 10.

B6 Tip, on 93 Octane, Sedan (Basically Joe’s Auto Twin) on Stock wheels with some all season ContiExtreme’s. I was hoping to be down to a 1/4 tank but I had 3/4s when I reached the track.

The biggest thing I was trying to figure out was how to launch. I was looking at some really old messages from Justin and was trying a couple combos for launching.

I have LA, but found that with the added traction from the track my best runs were by running in Sport mode and holding the brake and just mashing the gas on green. Although for those stoplight races in Mexico, I prefer to use LA as it is really consistent.

Here’s a preview of the new quartermile feature for the site.

Basically it’s a massive list of all the S/RS quarter mile times. However you can narrow the list down, sort by whatever column you want, do boolean searches, etc.

Here’s the top of the fastest B6/7 S4 list:

and for example, here’s the fastest times EXCLUDING JHM tuned cars (note the ‘not jhm’ in the ECU column). List gets pretty sad when you do that lol.

Going to be a great resource.

I just noticed that jbimolaS4 wasn’t on there. With his inclusion, there are only 3 cars faster than 13.00 from ALL tuners combined (APR, GIAC, REVO, Unitronic, PES, etc alll together).

There are 10 different JHM tuned cars faster than 13.00!

looks pretty cool man!!

and on top of the sub 13s non-JHM cars, they all have a SC…

good point!

the jhm tip sc car (count vohns car) is missing

ran 12.30 at sac…gotta see if jhm have a slip

oh snap i havent posted in a bit but love the new veiw and still up there awsome

great work saki!!

Well, you might as well add my time from today to the list. Shame every time I go I break something and have to cut my runs short. I truly believe I could have gone faster.

Anyway, it’s still what it is. 12.63@113.96
6lbs of boost. My mod list is in my sig so pick what you want to list.

good stuff dude. Starting to see some good MPH come out of your car. My Rs4’s best MPH was 109 something today…so you were crushing me.

Just a MAF sensor right? It’s probably the car gods’ way of dinging us for buying |$70.000 cars for half price after the first owner lost their shirt on them. Just a little annoying tax on us every little while.

Oh, and it was a 1.91 60ft.

Congrats on the PB Axel…I am so jealous you guys got out!! I need to quit messing around, but I’ve been busy with so much shit I haven’t had time to mess with my S. Good news is I got a job offer last week up in Rochester, NY that I think I’m going to take. After the New Year I may have to make a trip up and run with you guys. Not to let the cat out of the bag, but do you think I’ll have a problem getting across the border with a bottle in the trunk?.. :o

Not sure about the bottle… but at least youll have LOTS OF SNOW in Rochester

I lived straight north across the lake. We never had snow… Rochester got it ALL!!!

Its not a bad drive either. im 2 hours 20 minutes away from the track. From Rochester is 2 hours 40 min.

Haha, ya man my wife is not too excited about moving back to the snow…she is from Batavia right between Buffalo and Rochester. We have been in the Carolinas for about 10 years, but she will get over it and we both want to be closer to family. I’m from just N of Pittsburgh and I can’t wait to get back up North!

Good stuff euro

What line of work are you in?

Also Rochester has their own track I believe. There is a MTM supercharged RS4 there in town and I asked him if he had ever been to the strip, but I don’t think he was into it. He said he would…but didn’t.

Line of work…well in the Marine Corps I was an Advanced Aviation Comm/Nav Electrician. I got out in June and I currently work for Boeing as an Electronic Systems Retrofit and Repair Tech on the MV-22 Osprey, which basically involves installing engineering upgrades to the electrical system of the aircraft. The Rochester job is with Harris RF (a tactical communications company that has a pretty big stake in the military, especially Marine Special Operations) as an engineering technician. I currently have a BS in Electronics System Technologies, but my goal is to eventually become an electrical engineer, unfortunately there weren’t any schools for me down here to pursue that degree while I was in the military. Just excited for the opportunity and getting closer to our families.

I know there are a few decent tracks up there, my wife’s uncle builds hot rods for a living and use to go to a few of the tracks. I would be more excited to drive and meet up with you guys though, besides Ryan, I’m not sure I’ve seen another Audi at the strip down here.
