Strange that he only ran three times because he was scared about breaking the car. Its a new m5…thing is tough as nails.

The cars he references breaking down…I bet they were pretty old and/or modded to the extreme.

Yeah, I would have liked to see him run a few more times, too, just for grins.

I’m not sure which breakdowns he’s referring to - there was a modded diesel RAM pickup that blew up at the big end (not really a surprise) and a guy with a drag car had some problems, but that’s about all I recall…

The CLS55 (thought it was a 63, but turns out it was a 55) also only ran a few times, from what I saw, and those 2 guys were together, so who knows - maybe they spooked each other? The M5 did have some significant wheel hop though, so maybe that scared him off.

Meanwhile, my car just ran and ran - only “problem” I had was when I drove through the water for grins - spun a bit at the top of 1st gear, which blew the run. :stuck_out_tongue:

BBBFunny if you are at a track where anyone knows anything and you go through the water on street tires you catch a lot of shit. Just drops a bunch of water on the staging area, fucking up the next few runs or causing the track guys to mop up and burn it off. They officially hate you after that lol.

Everyone is already poised to make jokes about the euro guys, so best not to give them any excuses (like that or lining up right beside the tree or stalling on the launch like Mick)!

Actually, pretty much every 2WD car (street tires or not) used the water and the burnout box, and nobody seemed miffed at all…

On the whole waterbox thing some tracks are setup weird so you have to go through them… Thompson you actually have to backup to go into them vs pulling through them which is nice… Norwalk you have to drive around them but at least you can go around them…

He ran at Sacramento Raceway Park, which is at sea level, and density altitude was -579 feet when he ran. He had previously run at Bandimere or something which is 7000 feet or so. Interesting to compare time/trap when you factor altitude in. Both runs were bone stock on 91 octane, at the extreme ends of density altitude lol.

DA 8500 feet 13.9 @ 100.6
DA -579 feet 13.0 @ 104.9

So 9 tenths and 4.3 MPH difference. How would the boost bleedoff on a stock ECU work at altitude…wouldn’t this compensate a little?

Supposedly it shouldn’t bleed as much but I have never seen logs from someone to prove/disprove this… 8500 is just crazy though… Sac. gets some great DA’s as that is where 1scams4 runs… I have a feeling he will be making some passes there again soon with the GIAC pulley supposedly coming soon… They keep pumping it up lately…

Just checked Thompson, as today should be about the same as Sat. and I will be making passes between 10:30 and 11:30… -208 right now… Anything, under 300 and I will be very happy especially since it is supposed to be sunny so the track should have a little heat and bite… Hoping I can run a decent air pressure so it doesn’t hurt me up top…

I don’t know the guy - don’t even know his name - I just figured that any guy with the license plate “LOL AMG” would be the type of guy who posts on inTRaWeB fora (plural of “forum”;-).

Thanks bud! Itching to run after last weekend… Got there at 10am and left as they couldn’t get the track dry… they finally ran at 1:30pm but it was over 60 by then and the track had 150+ cars, plus I had stuff to do…

DA is looking good, going to run the Shell URT Advanced and try the 104 tune… Trying to secure a camera person as my brother may not be able to go… Want vids in case I run a good #… I’ll post regardless with the results…

I am waiting for some details on a K04 B5 S4 that just went LOW 11s @ 120+ MPH. Reminding everyone jumping on the tial bandwagon that K04 with good tuning will still whip some ass!

Not quarter mile but thought I would share what the Golf R stage III guys are doing. This is a 6MT customer of ours in florida who ended up beta testing the kit for us. It’s about a second faster in the 100-200 kph than the DSG GIAC Extreme LOBA 4xx 460HP claimed stuff I see in europe. He’s hitting the drag strip and just got his hands on the p-box so he’s been going nuts sending me data, and I’m not objecting because he can clearly shift.

Why isn’t the screen accurate? Are you only talking about rounding on the single decimal place?

No i’m talking about it being off by a couple to a few tenths VS the actual data in the file. The file is what everyone uses. The file also proves elevation change as well, which is important.

Ask tsivas since you don’t seem to believe me… I’ve told you this about four times lol. Last time you said “ours won’t read to the card anymore” as your reason for not sharing the files. I can dig it up for you.

I don’t think that the golf r stage 3 p box info was pertinent to this thread at all…
