Wow that’s a bit disappointing. An R8 4.2 with a full catless exhaust, a couple of lightweight parts and a jhm tune would be getting pretty close to that with a good driver.
drob, Nice results bud! From all the logs I’ve seen the 1-2 happens around 5800ish and the 2-3,3-4 6300ish… The best way to tell when the shift is occuring is if the total timing goes way negative…
Thanks Ron, still a ways to go to even get in the same stratosphere as you guys 8), but at least going in the right direction. I’ll post the logs (send them to you if you want) from the runs, I logged knock timing pull from banks 0 and 1…still getting around 4-5 deg of pull. I believe I grabbed IAT’s, so I’m thinking an AMS CPS and APR dsg tune will be the special sauce I need to bring myself into the low 12’s/11’s on pump. Probably a better launch too
It’s always fun though, saw a snow mobile run 11.2, and an APR stg 3 TVS1720 R8 4.2 high 11’s. Not to mention the drag cars that wouldn’t even show times and almost made me lose hearing lol.
It was the guys second time ever to the drag strip, said he was having problems launching with his 6MT. Apparently he couldn’t rev above 2k while staged, and was bogging his launch. Don’t really know much more than he was excited when he ran 11.7 or 11.8, don’t remember. He was running the 93 file, he had the “get er done skywagon” $30k stg 3 installation done by Steve’s European, so I don’t know what else they added besides the intercoolers…ie not sure about headers, exhaust, intake. Stock wheels and tires. He wasn’t exactly the type to know all the details. Sounded like his next mod was “racing tires” and LW wheels.
He was pissed because his brother ran faster in a stock GT-R…definitely a character. I actually met him a while ago during a track day at Grattan, nice guy:

Even with a shitty roll out launch he should have went faster than that IMO…oh well he probably just sucks at driving. Did you mention the APR issues to him? It would have been a kind warning to keep an eye on his car.
Sort of, but didn’t want to be a buzz kill, he just got the kit and was riding the “650 HP” wave of happiness. Honestly, I don’t think he would have cared…
The tech who helped install the kit came out in his K04 B5 S4 avant, very nice guy. I did speak to him about the APR stuff with him and he was actually saying things were gonna get much better. Won’t get into the details cause I don’t want to put words in his mouth, but he was happy with where things are going.
He said 11.9@118, I never really saw myself, only about 20 cars showed up on wed night, every time he was running I was waiting in line for another pass.

The RS4 was well driven by a good driver (kryptonik) who cut a 1.80 60’ and changed gears well as seen on video.
So this raises a couple of questions
Why the MASSIVE disconnect between the Amvivgmgkmd hail Mary run in Seattle where they claimed to trap 126…wonder if there was 110 octane fuel, no exhaust, no interior or something…(as some suggested at the time)
It’s interesting that these times and traps match up nicely with the original disappointed ting runs the kit made in HP form during testing…the ones they tried to hide but a camaro owner there was nice enough to post online
3 with APR blowing up multiple customer rs4 engines with their kit and Amvivgmgkmd running disappointing times, is there anyone left willing to debate that JHM completely fucking owns this platform?
Has tweets4estate shot himself over the bad news yet? Maybe someone should do a wellness check on his residence.
