From a motor building and seemingly every other aspect that Lapkritis guy has no idea what he’s talking about. It’s another excited but uneducated idiot that wasn’t to post to see his words show up on screen.
Google is helpful when your smart harmful when your Lapkritis. When he posts it’s like someone talking about a classic book that they read the cliff notes on but someone ripped out 2/3 of the pages on the cliff notes.
Anything that idiot posts is just like the other uneducated kids that tell you how simple something is when they can’t even find there drain plug.
Changing rod length will effect things and none of them will be helpful. As there is something called a piston to rod stroke ratio. But to help all those who don’t want to read a 50 page essay by me on motor building. If you change something on the rod you need to change the area on the piston to make up for the difference. There is a calculation that has to have the piston deck a certain distance from the chamber for combustion to properly happen. Always remember that there’s a calculation depending on chamber size heads etc etc that say your piston deck needs to be at a specific distance. YOU CANT CHANGE THAT OR YOU Won’t HAVE PROPER COMBUSTION IF YOU EVEN GET COMBUSTION AT ALL. THAT MOTOR BUILDING 101
If you make the rod longer and don’t do anything with the piston the piston slams into the cylinder heads. If you just make the rod shorter you don’t have the needed quench area needed for combustion and basically your motor will constantly back fire and never make positive rotational power.
When you make a stroker motor you use a different crankshaft rod and piston. That’s how you change the piston to rod stroke ratio.
So basically Lapkritis just kinda made up stuff as he went. This isn’t new there base been long list of dumb A4 guys they step in and just babble. I remember one classic A4 guy said he could put a 2.7t in a b6 S4 for 1000$ and make more power then the v8 guys. It’s easy to say when you talk out your ass. This particular A4 guy did actually end up trying to prove a point to all the v8 guys. Well 13,000$ later he sold a not so great running b6 s4 with a 2.7t in it.
