What fuckin’ douches!!

http://www.funker530.com/video-of-ottawa-shooter-being-killed-in-parliament/

Apparently authentic video of the officers taking down the loner; judging by the noise, loner must’ve had a shotgun and shot off one round before getting cheeseholed by a hail of small arms fire.

Good!

Terrible, this actually made me laugh pretty hard.

Haha, it was the best descriptive I could give without getting graphic.

me too

Someone asked me why they shot him so many times today in that video…why there were so many gun shots. My answer was the answer whenever police kill a cop/soldier-killer in a fire fight… ‘the cops must have run out of bullets’.

Made me smile listening to that video. I love that it was an old sauce who filled him too. Seargent at arms is a largely ceremonial ‘protector’ of parliament. Good thing it was someone who was quick thinking. Apparently he heard the commotion outside, ran to his office, grabbed his weapon, and came out blazing.

Oh and sure enough, this guys was EXACTLY like the guy who ran over the soldiers 2 days ago. RCMP were watching him…he tried to fly to turkey…they intervened and took his passport away…then let him go back to his life. Now he fucking killed a soldier and shot two other parliament staff members.

There needs to be a new way of dealing with these douchebags. The problem is the constitutional rights junkies will go nuts.

If someone is known to be an extremist and is attempting to leave the country to go fight with ISIS, there needs to be legislation allowing us to prosecute them. You basically have 3 options

  1. secretly take him somewhere and kill him. Not exactly going to work lol but understandable.
  2. let him go…and now you’re letting a known terrorist fly on a commercial plane. Problem #1. You’re also letting him go join forcse with ISIS who will continue beheading and killing and engaging with real soldiers over there. Problem #2.
  3. take away his passport, and leave him free here. Now you have a known terrorist who is unable to go over there to kill Canadian/British/US/Iraq/Kurdish/Turkish (soon)/etc. soldiers…so what’s the next natural step? HE FUCKING DOES IT HERE.
  4. create a new law for these sympathizers, and when they attempt to leave the country to do this, take away their rights, and prosecute them.

This is where it gets tricky…because you can’t really restrict people from travelling. We all know the government/law enforcement will get it wrong and some guy who likes to pray 5 times a day will end up being villified and lose his passport because the cops fucked up. So that’s pretty tough.

Otherwise…option 1 makes a load of sense to me.

There definitely is a certain satisfaction to seeing a piece of shit get what they have coming to them.

I say let them get out of the country, as long as they’re not planning on taking out the plane of course, and intercept them in another country where US/Canada laws don’t apply and just take 'em out. Fuck 'em, if they want to fight, let them find out how fast they’re gonna lose.

In other words, you want a Canadian version of the Patriot Act?

[:D]

if only you could actually see it. I hope there’s surveillance in the hall.

Here’s the dirt himself, pic posted on ISIS’ twitter account. And seriously, twitter lets these guys have a fucking twitter account? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME TWITTER???

https://postmediaottawacitizen2.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/1023-suspect.png

^^ that motherfucker. Makes me so angry. The cancer needs to be eradicated - hopefully people in decision-making positions start waking up to the real threat posed by ISIS and their ilk.

Sak - it may actually serve our interests to have these guys post on Twitter. Our spooks may be able to hack into their accounts to identify their location.

What makes these kids “convert” to the radical Islamic fate and turn on their own country that nourished and protected them?

It makes no sense…it’s like the bullied high school kid that now has a “purpose” in life.

I guess this is Darwinism at its best; survival of the fittest, let the stupid bleed out.

The average kid who is converting isn’t old enough to remember what September 11th felt like. They have grown of age when these wars (always justified in my mind) became unpopular. So what do the cool kids do to become super popular? Join the radical factions of these pricks. The 40’s had the Commies, the 60’s had Black Panther Party and Weather Underground sorts, now we have radicalization of Islam. All of the othe wars between Vietnam and GWOT were too short to become unpopular. I hate fucking kids!!!

it’s definitely weird…the ‘normal’ white kid who suddenly shows up with a beard and angry fcaebook rants. I don’t get it.

I’m a rabid atheist, and I whole heartedly believe all religion being banished from the world would be a great thing. Don’t get me wrong, there’s some nice things in religion, like moral guidelines etc, but these aren’t religious in nature…these are common fucking sense. Helping people, being nice to your neighbour, not stealing…you don’t need to go to church to learn this shit. And when the guys running churches are fucking kids in the ass on the weekend, well that just shows you that you don’t look to religion to make people perfect, because it doesn’t. But I digress. Bottom line is that religious zealoutry has killed millions of people over the years. The Jews want you to believe the muslims are terrible people, but frankly it’s the terrible muslims that are terrible people…and doesn’t that point to the terribleness not the muslimness? There are terrible jews who wiped out thousands of non-jews because they are non-jews. There are terrible christians who did the same to EVERY religion they could get their hands on. Whether it was by enslavement, or their own ethnic cleansing. It’s all the same in my mind…the key word is terrible or radical or extremist. That faction exists in all religions unfortunately. Some are a bit more newsworthy, or a bit more current. At the end of the day though, to me, as a scientist, I don’t understand why everyone gets so bent out of shape about their book of made up stories (bible, qaran, whatever you want) and gets so upset about everyone else made up stories. It’s all a load of fiction to help ancient people explain things that they didn’t undestand. Well, guess what…science came along and explained the lot of it…but these beliefs (and hatred of others’ beliefs) will alst forever unfortunately.

Ricky Gervais had a great quote in an interview with Richard Dawkins the Scottish atheist extraordinaire.

“There are some 2700 major organized religions in this world, and they all have their own god. I believe in none of them, as an atheist. So I don’t believe in any of 2700 gods. Interestingly, the members of those religions all believe in their own ‘god’ but don’t believe in the other 2699 gods. So in reality, anyone who is ‘religious’ is actually almost as much of an atheist as I am”

Thank you for that distiction

^^ The distinction is indeed important. As sak noted, religious zealotry doesn’t discriminate. The Christians and Jews had their spurts of extremism, and now it’s happening primarily (exclusively?) with Islam. It’s tragic. Probably 99% of the world’s muslims just want to live decent lives, raise a family, etc. But the jihadis are hijacking Islam as a justification for murdering countless innocent people (ironically, mostly fellow muslims) and spreading their own version of barbarism.

That is the cancer that has to be eliminated. Imagine the Islamic State armed with a nuke. Or chemical or biological weapons. And those scenarios aren’t far-fetched. Remember when Assad gassed his own people a few years ago, killing thousands of women and children in the process? Well the “deal” that Obama struck with Syria to relinquish all of its chemical weapons hasn’t turned out so well. The UN recently documented that Syria still retains stockpiles of those weapons and has the capability of producing more if it so chooses. And with the Islamic State currently seizing control of large portions of that country, it isn’t hard to imagine IS getting their hands on those weapons.

Pretty scary shit.

Very good points indeed. Any version of extremism can lead to groups of zealots trying to impose their will on the people. This side of the hemisphere seems to be not as susceptible to falling for such trickery. Guess its naturally in our blood to be rebellious. tiler convinced nearly an entire nation that killing off certain people was justified, Mao and Stalin did the same (although they added a lot of fear into the equation), and now the roots of the radicalization of Islam dating back to the creation of Israel in 1947, and further fueled by the ousting of the shah (whom we supported) in Iran in 1979. Luckily, we still have a lot of “neat stuff” in our inventories to counter SISSY.

The very basic definition of terrorism is defined here…

the modern day Christian version is the KKK

I think the most incredible thing? We talk about ‘Christians’ doing crazy shit…every religion, alll kinds of crazy shit in the past

Hitler, ze Germans…that was barely 70 fucking years ago. Doesn’t that seem hard to believe? If you go to Germany today, it’s shocking to think of what happened there 70 short years ago. The Germans are an interesting people. Pensive, sharp, sophisticated, orderly…yet they went fucking daft and tried to take over the world while murdering off millions of civilians as a side project while waging war. Truly unimaginable…we’re not talking 300 years ago. Or 3000.

ive never agreed with you more.

some days im ashamed to be human. and worse yet im german. my family fled hitler, made the long trek here because they didn’t want to be a part of hitlers plan. I take pride in that. my great oma lost her youngest child to starvation on the way here. im very proud to be Canadian and thankful for the sacrifices my family made to ensure future generations grew up free and safe.

when I was driving back from Vaughan after getting my wrap on fri the whole 407 was littered with cars pulled over waving flags for our fallen soldiers on their way home. every bridge was packed with cops, firefighters and citizens all waving flags and showing respect. it was very cool and I was amazed and proud to be Canadian.
