I believe that’s pretty accurate. Funny how strict gun control laws’ primary effect is to disarm the law-abiding citizens. The persistent gun crime here is largely relegated to a few areas in the city with high gang affiliations. Of course, much of that is fueled by a ridiculous “war on drugs,” but that’s a whole separate matter…
I’m just glad I can finally own a gun here. And soon I’ll have my conceal-carry license.
If you want to so the Strictest Handgun control come to Canada! For proper long distance transport of a hand gun in BC, you are technically supposed to contact the government, telling them your planned route, only short legal transportation is to, and from a legal range, inside a registered gun club, which you need to be a member of, and transport is also allowed is for servicing.(I have friend who have been asked for proof the gun was indeed in for service, and that’s why he had it in the car.) Bush firing is not allowed!!! Big nono, you get caught with a handgun in the woods, you better hope you have Vaseline. They also do background checks when you apply for a handgun license.
I really need to get down to Texas to see my buddies! You guys down there always get such cool toys!
Just submitted all my paperwork last week for mine Clochner, if you need a good glass text me and I can send you the info - One day, cheaper than anything else and a great instructor.
Annyways I live outside of Chicago so have been able to have all the goodies I have the cash for:

Mos 500

Sig Pro 2009
AR-15 5.56
Lots of snow here lately. Not mosnter dumps but just a steady death by a thousand paper cuts where we get 1-4 inches every day. I much prefer getting 12-18 inches in a monster dump. Then I can blast it with the snow blower and have some fun.
Farther north in Paisley Ontario where lake effect snow from Lake Huron is the name the day…
dblearon: can you also send me the info on the class you took? The CC law requires 16 hours of training, but I’m all ears if there’s a way to get everything done in one day.
PsYk: thanks man. Nice to see we have some gun owners on here. 2nd Amendment ftw!!
Ynnekdude: awesome 1911 as well. I’m not a gun guru or anything, but I was told by some knowledgeable family members that this model was the way to go. I almost pulled the trigger on a Kimber but for some reason went with the Springfield instead.
-18 tonight with a -50 windchill… sounds comfortable. Might have to turn off the AC in my place ;D
Cloch, if you’re interested, let me know and I’ll sign up for a class with you. I’m hoping to purchase something suitable for CC in the near future. At the moment, I’m leaning towards the H&K USP Compact 9mm… for some reason it really appeals to me. Planning to see how it feels before any purchase.
Good idea. I really want to get the course out of the way before the ISP starts issuing the licenses in April. I’d like to see the details of the course dblearon took, but I’m also open to other options. Hopefully there are weekend courses.
Also, that 9mm looks good. I’ll definitely need to grab something like that when I get my license.
The one I was looking into was offered on the weekend. Courses are Saturday + Sunday, 8hrs each day. I believe it was around $250 for the whole shebang.
Damn, it’s snowing everywhere EXCEPT the west coast… Not only are we 100 inches less snow vs same time last year on the slopes here, my buddy posted on fb that it was close to 60F at the resort I go to on Sunday. Good thing I went on Saturday…
