There are about 36,000 gun deaths annually in America. There are about 10-12,000 alcohol related motor vehicle deaths.
This past weekend, I attended a gun show and it fueled my fire to get a 1911. Its a classic, its apart of the Marine heritage AND its just a solid firearm.
Was looking at these:

Colt 1911 Iwo Jima
Ya the prices are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too high and the sellers knew it.
Where’d you get 36K gun-related deaths from?
As of 2013, there were 11,419 violent gun-related homicides in the US.
Pretty cool media presentation for fact:

As of 2012, there were 11,622 violent gun-related homicides in the US.
Select “Homicide”, “Firearm” then submit request

2011: 11,068
2010: 11,078
A lot of gun death figures include “suicides” which account for most of the numbers.

Going to piggyback off this:
2012 gun-related suicides: 20,666
2011 gun-related suicides: 19,990
2010 gun-related suicides: 19,392

EDiT:
Point is, IN MY OPINION, there is a difference between intentionally picking up a firearm and doing harm to others and picking up a firearm and doing harm to oneself. The grey line is on the individual and the individual alone; his mental capacity/deterioration/health/etc plays a big role as he can be as law abiding as the next person, legally purchase a firearm with zero issues and then wake up one day with the flip switched. There’s no law that can control a persons behavior nor can it predict when that person will flip.
Gun Control Laws do not factor in the unpredictable human behavior/psyche, as stated above. The very idea to “have stricter” gun control laws is redundant considering how much stricter the laws have gotten over the past 25yrs. You want more gun safety, educate the average person on HOW to use a weapon or at least educate the person on gun safety itself versus embedding fear on how “bad” guns are.
Anybody else going to shot show?
Shoulder looks cool but it looks uncomfortable.
1911s always seem to hold there value. The classic gun.
Are you headed down?
That would be an awesome trip.
I have never heard of shot show. I guess it’s a real big gun show
Got a surefire x300 ultra for my FNX 45 Tactical

Do you guys ever shoot these things? You buy loss of stuff but it feels like car collectors who just polish and photograph their cars to save the odometer.
I try to hit the indoor shooting range weekly. Usually between 100-150 rounds per time.
But like my RS (that’s also my daily), I spend a lot of time cleaning (and in this case, oiling) as well.
was hoping to see some vid of you guys shooting shit, per the title

Well if you don’t mind the cheesy music, I took the wifey to the range for her first time back in April of last year.
My goal was to get her familiarized with feel and mechanics of the MP9c; also wanted to school her on shooting fundamentals
Stance
Grip
Breathing
Front sight alignment
Trigger Control
Follow through
Main emphasis was on grip, trigger control and follow through
What’s with the video code? Does that work? I’m on mobile / Tapatalk and it’s not working here.
Also do guns depreciate? Or hold pretty firm like camera lenses ?
I. E. The used 2012 made xyz gun you buy today is the same as one that’s 4 years older so they price similarly (and thus you can buy stuff and effectively use it for free till you’re tired of it before selling it)

That was my goof. On AZ if you use “video” it displays video but on here, I have to use “url” to link a video.
Firearms don’t really appreciate but prices fluctuate due to market in relations to political BS; price gouging is nuts online.
Re prices like slow said it depends drastically on political climate. I have a saiga that has increased in value 50% in a year and milsurp stuff can skyrocket when supply dries up.
After the last school shooting tragedy that prompted a gun buying craze (worries of another ‘assault weapon’ ban) caused thep value of my SCAR 17S to triple.
Same with the Russian ban that undoubtedly caused the saiga price increase.
In other news, I have a shotgun arriving on Thursday.
My first shotgun!
FNH SLP mk1 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun.

^^ very nice! you’re building quite the arsenal there.
plan is to pick up my shotgun this weekend. i ordered it a few weeks ago and have been procrastinating on picking it up. i’ve shot a semi-automatic shotgun before (and quite liked it) but i decided to go with a pump action.
