24 hour waiting periods are lame. I ordered the shotgun a few weeks ago and went out to pick it up tonight (an hour drive), only to find out that the clock begins ticking not when you pay, but rather when you fill out the paperwork about felony history and other stuff. Sucks, because it’s a nightmare to get to this place from the city during the week. The only things I walked away with were ammo and a cleaning kit.

I hit the range today and rented two rifles (well, not sure what a FN PS90 would be classified as lol).
Rented a WASR AK so my brother and I could shoot it. We ordered a Serbian Zastava AK for his birthday present that hopefully will arrive next week.

Also zeroed in my red dot sight on the shotgun. It’s such a light shooting shotgun!
Finally, I swapped out the AK with a PS90 (damn the ammo was expensive but I really wanted to try shooting it).
Recoil was so light! Felt very stable holding it. Loved that it was ambidextrous everything (since my brother is left handed).

…why zero with such a distance considering the shotgun is a CQB/Breaching platform?
00 Buckshot @ 20 and 25 yards.
It is actually really accurate even at range. All 9 pellets are well within the “chest” area of a human silhouette target at 20 yards (with the stock modified choke). I’d imagine it would still hit a human sized target for quite a bit more.
Slugs would be even more accurate
It’s to start off before I zero it in for Turkey hunting (40-50 yards max).
This isn’t from the recent trip, but it’s two shots of 00 buck shot (9 pellets per shot) using Olin/Winchester 00 buckshot @ 20 yards.

With the Federal 00 buckshot, I was getting the pellets even tighter (closer to the “inner” part of the 8 ).
^^ hmm, fair enough.
From my experience, we/I normally don’t shoot the 870 more than 10yds out with 00 Buckshot even though the effective range is 15-25?yds; with slug I think its doubled to 50?yds.
@10yds out, 00Buckshot leaves a nice grapefruit-sized hole in the Q-targets…I’ll have to get a pic of my grouping with the 870 next time I qualify at the range.

The 1911 is good. The KSG isn’t great for anything other than shooting something less than 20feet away.
I do have a Benelli M4 tactical. That’s a good clay-shooting weapon.

Nice, I have the XD .45 4", and it’s one of my favorite pistols.
I’ve been thinking about the XDS 3.3" 9mm for carry but I also really like the XD MOD.2™ – 3″ .40cal.
I should probably just go hold/shoot them both and then make my decision.
Define “LONG” range…haha I can do some damage at 5-600yards with an AR and iron sights. It sucks though because most ranges are 200-300 yards max, every range that you can shoot further than that around here is private and has some pretty crazy membership requirements.
