Saki, Come on now we all know it was ths DA, err I mean track prep, err I mean… LOL It’s never the driver or car… No clue what he meant about the traction control…
91, Not sure but you have me interested… Can you elaborate…
Best part of all of this is that I got an email from someone who will remain nameless, that told me my record was going to fall this past weekend when said car hit the strip… I even went as far as to email a few members telling them what I was told and that I thought there would be some killer times as I thought for sure he would gut the car, spray it, or something… Then I saw the time and LOLed! I emailed said person back and told him I ran 11.79 not 12.79! ROTFLMAO!
LOL! Been busy at the office today… Just checked the QW post… Austin the GIAC dude says his 114.32 corrects to 117.26! LOL Do these folks have absolutely any clue about drag racing? The DA was 1500ish not 5000+… I guess that wouldn’t help their case though…
hahahaha thats sad. im sorry you have to go through that shit too.
AWE took their mk6 gti with their 2300 dollar k04 upgrade and GIAC “high output” file and ran an 11.8 @ 120 mph. Think about that number for a second and think about the upgrade. Thats with a catted downpipe, 2.5" full back. Now take my stock turbo car which went 13.3 @ 103 and compare the numbers. Doesnt make sense. They have about 50 whp more than my car does and yet trapped 17 mph faster. think about it…
I just noticed his fastest time was 1 in the morning on the 28th. Even better DA than we thought (slightly).
Just in case anyone is confused, his tune/exhaust/intake B8 S4 is NOT an NA car…it’s a turbocharged or supercharged car lol. Bolded below = 12.489 @ 114.9 If he were to run at sea level.
Funny that you mention AWE & GIAC’s “high output” K04…
Aside from the facts that their drag time does not match up with the published hp, no one else has ever been able to replicate a time anywhere close to it. This is not the first time GIAC & AWE have played dyno & marketing trickery.
This was posted before, but as you can imagine Todd@AWE / GIAC had it taken down very quickly.
What I found interesting was the “Independent ‘Back-to-Back’ Dyno Testing”. The article states the following:
Due to the time-consuming nature of the AWE K04 turbo kit and additional AWE parts install, we were unable to perform all the dyno work on the same day. The K04 upgrade is a standalone upgrade and AWE recommended we install the supporting modifications to demonstrate the upgrade’s full potential. The baseline dyno was performed in the morning and the subsequent dyno tests were performed two days later.
This article clearly states the baseline dyno and K04 pump fuel and race fuel dynos were preformed only days apart. The problem is that these dynos were posted before!
Here you can see the European car stock run and GIAC stock run overlaying identically! Even giac has showed on their own vortex post stock runs will be different between runs so it’s fishy they were identical years apart on different dynos and different cars!
On to the K04 turbocharger system, the 91 octane K04 pump fuel pull was preformed by GIAC on their in house dyno in the winter of 2010 (February, 24th, 2010) and their race fuel pull was preformed on March, 10th, 2010. GIAC first posted this information Here on VWVortex, and you can see the graph directly Here on GIAC’s website.
Here you can see the European Car’s stock, pump and race fuel runs identically match GIAC’s stock, pump and race fuel dynos!
European Car k04, pump/race Dyno vs GIAC’s k04, pump/race Dyno (Allow Animation to Load)
These dyno’s and reviews from European Car were in the “Proven” section of their magazine and are designed for readers to get a fair and accurate assessment of an independent test by an impartial third party. The tests were not independent tests as they were simply GIAC’s supplied dyno graphs. The tests were also not preformed days apart. They were actually preformed YEARS apart with the stock run in 2008 and the final modified runs in 2010.
Frankly I have everything to doubt about any claims GIAC/AWE makes towards a product/tune. Todd still continues to assert that his products are USA made despite there being a clear record of him importing tons of product in from China and from brokers like Autobahn88.
Wow crew that is some serious information gathering. audirevolution.net: the truth will prevail! I doubt that post would’ve lasted on any of the other sponsor happy sites, long may this be sponsor free!
wow…shit got real on audiworld in a real hurry lol
that post by crew that I copied to Audiworld didn’t last 12 hrs and AWE had audiworld admin delete it.

That post I had up about AWE? Deleted. That’s some weird, corrupt **** right there. Hiding information from the forum members (the people who make the forum a viable business) to protect advertisers who pay to make their mistakes go away. Disappointing.

Hi sakimano,
The post that you created in the following thread has been deleted

Thread: AWE Tuning brings you G.I.A.C. Software for the B8 S4. Taking orders…. Now.
Reason: Off Topic to the S4 forum

Hey Sakimano - nothing corrupt, posting GTI dyno plots is off topic for this board.
I will say, this is also not the place to conduct any kind of witch hunt, if you have a beef with AWE tuning, or any other tuner, or user, this is not the place for it.
I have a beef when dyno info looks really sketchy, and lots of this GIAC dyno does.
The overlay showing the dyno trickery in the AWE/GIAC GTI means to me, that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
If Audiworld policy is to treat searching for truth and facts for its members as a ‘witch hunt’ that’s fine. I’ll leave the information on audirevolution.net where truth is not stifled by sponsorship dollars. I understand that you’re running a business, but you have to remember if nobody posts here (which has been a trend in the B6/7 S4 and RS4 forums if you haven’t noticed) you won’t have any sponsors to protect. Kind of a catch 22.

seriously. How Audiworld can delete a post by a member that highlights a huge discrepency in some of GIAC/AWE’s dyno results is beyond me. That’s just fucking mind-boggling to be honest. Just think of the guys who miss that exchange and just waltz in and go ‘AWE stands for AWEsome!’
In the thread, Kris, the adminstrator for Audiworld (which is a fucking ghost-town other than the B8 forum by the way) basically intimated that I’d be banned if I mentioned this again. So of course I mentioned it again
Not surprised at all that Kris acted that way. It’s what happens when AWE runs screaming to a forum admin about how they’ll pull sponsorship dollars unless they delete a thread / ban a member.
if not, just:
-quattrofail (for embarassing someone after they threatened me)
-audizoo (for exposing apr for scamming jhm and countvohn…apr is a major sponsor)
-a5oc (for calling out pes for their engine blowing, underperforming s5 sc kitthe s5 guys were going to buy on the group buy…pes joined as a sponsor to have me banned)
