Stepping into a JHM Stage 1 kit

Yes, that’s mine. They’ve had it since March and I’ve been waiting ever so patiently for them to do all the development work required. Now I’m chomping at the bit. Have some new CCW SP18’s being delivered to them next week so I can roll out the car with some shiny new shoes and also not let my wife see that I bought some new wheels, “Why yes dear, those are the same wheels that have always been on the car.”

JHM will be swapping out the self-contained oiling SC for an oil-fed unit since I care more about lap times than 1/4 mile times. The oil-fed unit was recommended by them for track days to keep from possibly cooking the oil in the SC as may happen with the standard self-contained units when run hard for 20-30 minutes continuously. This is just a precaution, recommended by them.

The car also has their new LSD installed in the rear.

With crappy all-season tires, I had run 1:58’s at Sonoma Raceway with a full bolt on car (except brakes) while cooking the brakes and smoking the tires out of turn 2 and 7. With the BBK, LSD, ~200 hp more and standard DOT performance tires, I’m hoping to get the two-ton sled down to 1:50 flat and perhaps even faster.

Both interesting developments. I wasn’t aware of either and now my interest is peaked. Shame I have other financial obligations in 2014. Maybe in 2015 hehe.

Cool, you must be stoked.

once the seats arrive I should know if it’s doable for 2014,or If I have to wait a bit longer. Either way I will be going JHM.

Correct I’m out in Vancouver, it is a bit of a trek, the seats are somewhere in the middle of Alberta right now. LoL

Really is crazy to see how many 4.2’s jhm actually have had there hands on! Crazyness. Also just go to show the amount of people that don’t even know about the forums/don’t even care about posting!

Haha can’t wait to see the V3 in person!

The New wheels part is awesome! Haha

I’m also interested about that oil fed SC.

I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing more about the first fully built JHM S/C’d car. Having a built motor program for N/A engines who want to go F/I is key. That’s what I’m really excited about.

^ from my last convo with Dru, this coming year we should see some more product releases, I tried for more info but he wouldn’t give out to much! LoL

Understandably ;D

Don’t feel bad oscar, my car has been at JHM since May for the built S4 engine and supercharger and I don’t have anymore, in many cases I have less, information than everyone else. When Saki was talking about his recent trip there where he rode in all their upcoming build cars I was hearing it for the first time. Even the pictures of the sleeved block and pistons on AZ I hadn’t seen until like a month after yet were posted.

Mdubz, i don’t at all the boys at JHM are a great bunch, as for sleeved blocks i was also unaware of the photos till you mentioned them, I just found them now, they look good!

Well, it is still being worked. Besides, I am currently stationed at Kwajalein Atoll in the middle of the Pacific. I told them to take as much time as they need to perfect the car. I won’t get to drive it until Summer 15…

Oh yeah the posi

Forgot you got that. Pretty cool.

Sucks waiting. Sucks rushing even worse though.

Car is fucking fast already. JHM’s tuner spent some time on it too so that’s good. Same with Marcus’ car which he checked over. Nice to have him out there to be able to get a feel for things.

what do you want to know? They can’t fire me lol

holy shit

At least it’s a reasonably nice place to be stationed (I’m guessing…But from what I’ve heard from friends who spent time in Afghanistan, an island in the South Pacific sounds positively fucking dreamlike.

Wait now…Don’t worry I have close to 19 years active duty in the Army,so trust me I have seen some “wonderful” places and “awesome” times. This is a well deserved swan song as I get ready yo retire.

^^ so that not only includes the middle east but also the Balkans? Nasty shit.

Yep, great times… Overall, every trip was worth it in the grand scheme of things. Real eye openers on just what the rest of the world is like…

My concern now is if the tranny will hold up. I won’t be doing any drag launches though so that should help worth the longevity of the drivetrain.

Have you gotten an eta for your car yet? I know there probably still breaking the engine in. I’ve been told the end of January for mine. I think they’re still nailing the break in process down before they send mine back as I believe I will be the first customer to do the actual break in myself.

Yesterday, they were telling me about the break in process and it seemed fairly involved. But if it is going to be done right then I see why.

Haha awesome! Most of the questions I had were answered by Dru, only thing I forgot to ask them about was the oil fed charger, and what fuel pumps they are using.

After all my reading last couple days, I’ll definitely be going built block, I have no doubts the block can handle stage 2, but the added reliability, and knowing it’s going to be able to handle pretty much anything I throw at it, definitely eases my mind!

Mdubz and RX you guys are going to be thrilled once you get yours back!
