Have a chat to jake about the temps. I had a little concern about it also but he guarrentees there wont be any issues with heat as its been well tested.
The stage one is only on 5 or 6 psi.
Im hanging for stage too also. Hopefully i will get it before next summer .
Best part is everything is interchangable so we only need to upgrade the bits we need , not replace the whole set up like a few other companies out there.
Looking forward to getting the exhaust on . Only had the car 2 days and its way to quiet.
Maybe a few of JHM local customers on here can head over to the shop and help build it quicker lol
Very interesting…I was thinking of getting the IC, but if the ECU already stabilizes the temp then I should be ok…Not that the IC and extra power wouldn’t have been nice…
Yeah the intercooler is amazing. When I was there we were checking iat on dates car and it was pretty amazing how effective it was and how quickly it recovered from say a 4 gear wot pull.
Then you can throw some ice into it as well and things get really crazy
The water tank is in the stock battery location I believe, and air to water interchange sits in the up pipe section from the blower to the TB. There is a pic or two posted of it from their gtg last year, but they didn’t say “this is our stg 2 car”. Just open hood for people to see.
Edit:
You can see the IC and water tank in this picture. Pretty clean install overall.
was ripping through the 60-130 database on 6speed and saw you on there with a very quick Mercedes I believe. Do you think this car will catch that one (if you go stage 2)?
Yes. That e55 was quick. I fully expect the stage 2 to be faster though. The e55 had a lazy trans and really wasn’t geared well for those rolling runs. I honestly can’t wait for stage 2 to be available!
A few thoughts as we are almost halfway through the install. First, working on an Audi isn’t exactly a walk in the park as I am sure most of you are well aware. It has taken longer then expected as we plunder our way through it, but I am sure the time could be knocked down substantially if we were to do it again. The JHM instructions are great, very detailed and an excellent reference to have through the project. One issue we are dealing with is that nothing in the 2 boxes of parts is labeled and there is no identification chart in the instructions. When you have multiple hoses, clamps, etc this makes it a little tricky to determine what is what in the manual. Also, there is no way to go through and make sure that all the required parts are on location before beginning the install. Right now my fingers are crossed that nothing was accidentally not shipped out. I am almost certain this will be addressed in future kits, and is just a case of me having the first kit actually shipped out of house. Honestly not that big of a deal as the instructions so far have more then made up for that.
