Most likely one of built motors EC did. Looks to have at least an extra coolant tank…doesn’t look like apr’s normal cps tank. Hopefully it will be taken to the track.
Pretty good they kept that under wraps. Makes his statement about e85 for apr coming even more plausible. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/635825-E85-Testing-and-Dyno-Results?p=10875107&viewfull=1#post10875107
Euro, Honestly, I don’t know about this guys car… I was aware APR made progress and were again focusing on it but honestly surprised this was posted as I’m guessing APR was as well…
drob, Not sure it will require a built motor? I know there is a car festival this weekend so I think more details will come out soon… Don’t worry mine will see the track as soon as it’s installed and vids and slips will be posted…
Kris, Pretty sure will see that released soon as well… Best part for me is they just put a new station in 2 miles from my house with E85:)
I only said that because David@eurocode recently mentioned a few completed engine builds with the caveat that the owner was “waiting” for apr to finish stg 3 “if it ever happens”. The fact that the op in that thread mentioned ec would less me to believe he has a built motor. But that’s just speculation.
I have no idea if the 1740 requires a built motor.
Lol never mind I was wrong. Just went and read the thread and David mentioned stock internals. With the goal being carb cert.
Requiring a built motor would really limit the market for this IMO… At a decent price point, which I think will see, and the ease of install they’ll sell plenty of these kits… Along as temps are kept in check and the tune is good the car should be fine, and I think running and E85 tune will help as well… How much it does for the cars performance will be interesting especially for those that can’t run race or e85. I don’t believe much from EC so David’s commentary when comparing to his blown R8 is pretty hard to believe, would be nice to see some real metrics or even data logs…
I thought the B8 motor wasn’t doing so well with the new blower?? Or maybe the tuner was being too agressive? Didn’t they go through a few engines.
So is the motor built?

They said the S4 and SQ5 were both basically stock DSG/Auto cars. Holy shit this should be interesting…
I wouldnt hold my breath on CARB EO certification. That is a sales ploy imo. A savy one albeit possibly misleading, but getting that approval is no easy endeavor. That state wants nothing to do with modified powerful petrol driven cars.
