I thought this would be worth its own post.
While I think its a great idea and a great place to see it happen I thought this would be best started as a new thread.
Keaton I vote yes. I think its a great idea for the 3.0 guys. NOT so much for a dick wave to the 1.8T guys but more for the idea of how the 3.0 is performance wise and and idea of where the 3.0 REALLY stands.

I Like the idea. Maybe do it every step. With just a chip. Then TCU and ECU and then with spacers and no cats.
If you end up doing it with the 3.0 with no cats, spacers TCU And ECU chip. It will be almost the same mods part for part that the Stage 2+ 1.8T has so that will be a great way to see how much the 3.0 wakes up with mods 1,2,3 and 4 Etc.
Yes, incremental testing would be perfect. It would obviously take a lot longer, but it would establish a very clear understanding of how each stage compares between the two platforms. While my mindset isn’t “nah nah nah I’m faster than xxx 1.8T” I think it would give us a good understanding of how our cars will stack up to other models in the platform… And if all goes well it would be a very appealing selling point to other 3.0 owners
I’m sure jhm has something like this in mind. They did have n/a s4 vs supercharged s4. So why not a few races against our newest rival? If this does get done slot of the people on the other forums are going to get their eyes opened and finally learn what we have known for so long. That will not only help us as a whole but help jhm in marketing and advertising. Sounds like a great idea from where I’m sitting.
This was my thougt as well. Its not a nah nah nah nah nah. More so for me… Ive been told that a stage 2 1.8T would kill a 3.0. I seriously think a JHM chipped, exhaust, spacers and Lightweight rotor 3.0 would hang with a stage 3 A4. I think that keatons car is well modded and its more or less a stage 2++ with the no cat option. So it will be cool to see what kind of potential the 3.0 has againsed an already solid 1.8T platform.
Discussed the results of this with CountVohn tonight… I’ll let him post the details, but I’d say it was a VERY positive outcome!

The race isn’t even with the new stage 2 tune. Its on the version 1.5. Keaton keeps saying he is happy it wasn’t on version 2 (the race)

Excited to see this. I love putting it to people who are a bit full of themselves (i.e. 1.8turbo guys trash talking the 3.0 guys, just like the B5 S4 guys trash talked the V8 guys).
CountVohn is almost entirely fueled by this and is AMAZING what he manages to come up with to put cocky trash talkers back in their rightful place haha!
I agree with everyone! People are just jelous, just like I’m sure we are all jelous of beautiful S4 owners! well at least I am anyways. Anytime you move up to a higher line of course its going to be better and of course everyone with a lower line is going to hate becuase they don’t have one.

Lol don’t expect anything ridiculously crazy. It was a bone stock 3.0 with an extra passenger against a well modded 1.8T, Keaton has his car maxed out on the stock turbo. The only thing that changed was the 1.5 tune after that.

The 3.0 had the disadvantage with 2 people in the car. Sorry for the sleepy music. I just had to find something quick to cover up the terrible wind noise that was in the video. IT was so windy you couldn’t even hear the cars honk off. Remember all that is added to the 3.0 car was the first version of the 91 octane tune.

Race 2 3.0 has version 1 91 JHM ECU tune only.
