Time to get Supercharged JHM style.

Yah. Glad those days are behind me

What will my car do in the quarter mile do we figure? Assuming the clutch doesn’t overheat upon launch lol? I’m JHM downpipes + full exhaust, JHM tune, otherwise stock. Always run 94.

Should be 12s, but I don’t know how you drive or any other variables involved

If Saki were driving. Once I get your clutch he’ll be the man behind the wheel to put up a number.

Sounds like most NA audis that are not a r8 or rs4. What’s a rs5 do uncorked? Faster than a rs4 sc? Do not want to derail so feel free to pm unless you see that data point as contributing

Yeah you could probably replicate our 12.6 with less parts because of your location and fuel!

As for the RS5 - No idea to be honest. I am sure those are pigs stock too

what does uncorked mean?

-stock RS5 have gone in the 12.4-12.6 range
-modified they have gone no faster because a) nobody mods them b) those who do don’t test them other than lame dynos. APR tuned one and ran 12.2 once.

nowhere near a supercharged RS4.

Uncorked means like rs4 all motor treatment via JHM and possibly a supercharger  I know they are piggies stock :-/ just curious on their potential. Surprised the apr tuned one did 12.2 that’s decent. I want to really like the rs5 but I wasn’t blown away when I drove it. I liked it but didn’t love it stock.

Good luck on the build you are in great hands. This will be more fun than be rs5. Any plans for suspension tires and breaks after the newfound power ?

Everything but suspension was done prior to the Vortech. It’s got the JHM BBK and sits on 275 Super Sports. I’ve had the parts to lower it for yrs but just haven’t. I kind of like my cars to look stock even though actually highly modified. And I agree, I bet it’ll show an RS5 its tail lights pretty quick. And it’s just a matter of time before JHM dials up the package potential.

KM

I meant to quote vtgt, not Saki.

The RS5 is still a relatively new car. The 2013s are three years old now so in a year or two they will actually start getting faster. As the first V8 S5s are a 2008 model year so that means that they are like eight years old.

The RS5 legitimately has 30 more horsepower than a RS4 and it is DSG. Once JHM gets ahold of one then they will get some impressive gains out if them. Plus Audi claims to have made the RS5 engine stronger than the older RS4 and V10 R8 so it would be interesting to see how much boost can be thrown at one before it starts to have issues. That along with the impressive results of the DSG B8 S4s should be a good indicator of the potential for the DSG in the RS5.

However for a while this S5 will put a lot of lengths on RS5s.

That makes sense thanks for the perspective Jimmy

Snapped a few more pics today. Someone had asked about the air inlet setup. The filter is behind the DS fog grill. And the Vortech can be seen through the PS.

My car had the ADPC option and it was relocated to center. If anyone else has this option pls let me know. Some VAG reads would be handy for the recalibration.

Is that an oem bumper? It almost looks like the rs version a bit, that or I don’t look at the s5s in enough detail before? Project Looks like great progress!

Such a beautiful car, and now packs a punch. Love it!

Yup that’s the OEM S5 bumper.

OEM bumper with honeycomb RS style grille. Same as me.

Thanks for sharing the new pictures!

Any more with the bumper off? Any clue for the new inlet design? I can think of several pro’s and con’s, so just curious if this was S5 specific, or possibly the new standard going forward for kits.

Most important of all, have fun putting your foot down and grinning! I know there wasn’t a much better sound than hearing that V8 rumble with the S/C on it!

Just for the S5

I do plan on adding a wire-mesh on the back of the fog grill. Just for a little more pre-filter protection to keep bigger pieces of debris away. Water shouldn’t be a problem either. No more puddle splashing and careful hand washes here on out…

that intake location is interesting. Hopefully someone smarter will know whether or not that can become a cold water hydrolocker or not.

This is what I palm to use in the event I need to drive in the rain. I imagine for some people they wont have any choice.
