I think it was more a combination of a better shift and the car adapting to the new intake. It def wasn’t just the driver as Luis shifts are good too…
My shifts still a little quicker but I couldn’t break the 10’s although it was only one run in the 10’s amongst 3 other low 11 runs so I don’t feel too shity
Congrats on the time Luis, car is running great! You’ve motivated me to invest in some LW wheels bc it seems that its well worth it
My current wheels are 58.7lbs each with the tire. I’m about to order a new setup which is 40.2lbs. How big of a difference in performance do you think it will make?
I know that on the B7 S4/RS4 when you cut around 30-40 lbs of rotating wheel/tire weight it worked out to some decent RPMs per second.
i.e. 20 RPM/second on the S4 from 3000-7000, so it was like 530 to 550. That meant you went from 3000-7000 in 3rd gear in 7.25 seconds instead of 7.5 seconds
I would assume it would add up to probably 2-3 tenths on a 60-130 pulll. Would be interesting to see. This is all guessing remember. You guys should bring a jack and do a wheel swap to test it. 3 of you can do it real quick.
so 18.5#/corner, total of 74# dropped, my S4 picked up 30rpm/sec from 30-100 iirc when I went from 56#/corner to 37.5#/corner. the effect was more noticeable at lower speeds, where wheel speed increases at a higher rate. should still be pretty noticeable 60-130
iirc it was 30 or so, went from 530 to 560. remember I dropped tire height as well, that accounts for some improvement.
the numbers are out there, but its a few months shy of 3 years ago so I can’t recall exactly. the change in feel was incredible, LW wheels is my favorite mod, better steering, better braking, better acceleration, better fuel economy, looks better
Really is incredible. ALthough most think people buy wheels for a “bling” effect, if you’re dropping that much weight per corner and are performance minded, the cost becomes a little easier to swallow and others will soon realize there are additional benefits on top of looks.
so diameter was reduced probably 1 to 1.5%? Still that’s only 5-8 RPM/second. Still gained 22-25 which is nuts. That’s what you get from deleting cats lol.
Ya don’t know what was up with your car Pete. Your times last night were in 11.3-4 range per pbox tools software. This is after new plugs, oil change, and fuel filter too.
