Yeah people are getting a little crazy around here, especially while waiting 2-3 hours in line to get gas.

The strip if road in the pictures in Ocean Parkway, south shore of LI. Ocean on one side, bay on the other. Remember where all the hookers were being buried by the serial killer a few years back? Same stretch of road. Connects a few famous beaches that LI is known for; Robert Moses, Jones Beach etc. Great road, lots of affluent people/homes along the way and certain sections just have beach on either side. The Ocean surges easily reached the road and crossed over to the south bay side. Demolishing everything in its path.

We (me/wife) are very fortunate as we have our power back. I also ordered a generator that should arrive saturday so we will be set for future events as well. Most normal people (lol) are opening their homes to people for hot showers, charging, heat, creature comforts etc. If we can get the gas station panick buying under control things should calm down a bit. It is really getting out of control.

Many people have it much worse, homes and belongings were destroyed, lives were lost in some areas, pets killed etc. It’s not pretty. Really tough for some, I feel for them.

We are all ok (Tony, myself). Just lost power for few days and I still don’t have yet.

Thank God for the iPad and Nintendo DS for my 4 year old. Has 73973 toys but wants electronics in power outtage.

Pete lives closer to water so he had a lot of damage to the lower floors of his house.

Both B8 S4s were ok.

yeah that does suck… He would have almost been better losing the B8 as he would have gotten closer to value with insurnace… probably won’t get anything for the 93 unless he had special insurance… Glad everyone is ok physically… thanks for the update…

ah well, it’s just pbox data after all. Great for comparison, but I wouldn’t get too upset about not being able to take advantage of -2000 DA, since nobody in your group has done so before. Head to the dragstrip in this weather if you want something to be excited about. You’ve had your car what…3 years, 5 dynos, 10 pbox rips…and 0 timeslips. You’ve done everything but the one benchmark that your platform (and every other platform on earth other than B5 S4s) has embraced as the standard measurement tool.

3 years ? Lol nah 16 months.

Easier said than done. Especially with closest tracks 1.5-2 hrs away and working 2-3 weekends a month with new office. It’s a PITA and my hour or two a week at night doing car shit or doing a dyno during lunch or an early day at work are more convenient for me right now.

There are a bunch of B8 S4 6MT times already out there so I doubt I’m breaking any records. Especially with a wonky daily driver clutch that hates launches. Don’t know why I need to step up. I’ve done enough non quarter mile stuff for the platform that most haven’t.

It’s probably over 50 pbox runs and even more vag com data :wink: mostly done after 1030-11 pm.

I live 40 miles from the track, and it’s about a 45 minute drive…but 81bear NEVER turns down an opportunity to go. He must have been 8-9 times already.

I would really like to see Richi and Pete go… Pete was all excited about his dad’s Revo car last year and then he got his own 6-speed GIAC car, but no visits… I find that interesting… Given the current situation I understand why he may not be able to go…

Too each their own… I just like seeing what the $'s I am spending on parts are doing for the car…

auditurd got a stage III kit for his B7 A4 2.0T and used to come into the B6/7 S4 forum claiming he was faster than every S4 blah blah blah. Everyone in that forum despised him.

91GL went as far as to challenge him to come to waterfest (they are both close) and they would have a race. 91GL promised that if auditurd won, 91 would ‘lick the soot off your tailpipes in front of everyone’.

Guess who no showed waterfest?

He never, ever dyno’d or ran that A4 at the dragstrip, despite all kinds of shit talking. Then he sold it, bought a B6 S4, and tried to be everyone’s buddy. After everyone told him to fuck off for 3 months he took the B6 to the strip and claimed that he ran 13.2 or something, meanwhile 91GL was there and his friends who were filming and watching all night said the silver S4 only went 13.5 or something.

Kid earned a collossally shit reputation in a real hurry on these forums. It will stick to him like stink on a monkey for years. If his GIAC choice proves to be slower than REVO, which it should (it won’t come ANYWHERE NEAR a 93 tuned REVO car, nor will any APR car with just a tune frankly), he will bury that information and not take the car to the strip. He has said they are pretty much even, but we all know that’s a fucking crock.

The only GIAC car to do anything interesting has been 1fastS4 who drove 1000 miles to get to the sea level cold temp track at Sacramento (he’s from Vegas remember), ran race gas and a full suite of mods. Considering that guy’s word is worth less than auditude’s (if that’s possible) I don’t put much stock in his result anyway.

Pride’s a helluva drug. Lots of people are far too invested emotionally in this stuff. To me it’s just data. I will go to any track, anytime, race any car. I just don’t care. It’s fun, and it helps other guys with my car understand what’s out there and what’s working.

yeah Sak I know Pete a little over a yeah and half. I don’t know the history stuff that happened. I have told him to stop the drama and he has calmed down a ton.

As far as the pride thing, I have seen it a lot with the younger guys that we see. I don’t really care for it and report things as they are. I’m a car nut. If I could go to track I would man. Trust me. Just very difficult for me right now.

BTW- you should be adding the STEP UP slogan to the neighborhood RS4’s that I hang out with…NY07RS4 and TonyRS4. :slight_smile: Can’t be only one in the spotlight.
