I don’t think vcds makes anything for mac. I think you can get generic scan tools for Mac but it won’t be can compatible so you won’t be able to do all the neat things.
Funny story, I run windows on my mcx using a program that runs it on top of my mac. My mac actually makes windows work 10x faster than my two pc’s I’ll open both computers. Turn them on, and my mac starts in seconds, windows is going on for 5 minutes, mac logs in, opens VMware and in using windows on top of Mac OS faster than the widows computer eve starts up.
How old are your other Windows computers/what operating systems. That makes a difference. My HP laptop running Windows8 I got last November will be up and running in <30 seconds from full shut down.
There will be no “native” Mac or Linux versions. The time and effort required to “port” VCDS to these platforms would never be worthwhile. VCDS works fine on Apple Mac computers that have Intel processors (all modern Macs) when Windows is installed on them using Boot Camp. Most computers that are used to run Linux can also boot Windows. If you do not wish to install Windows, we now offer a platform-independent version of VCDS called “VCDS-Mobile”.
1.9 Will there be a version for iPhone/iPad, Android, Blackberry, or Windows Phone?
We have no plans to make a native “Application” for any of these platforms. Instead, we are have created a platform-indendent version of VCDS called “VCDS-Mobile”. It can be used on modern versions of any of the above smart-phones and tablets.
just pulled that off the rosstech faq page.
Thanks Mistro, I can’t feel any difference between the S on and off.
as far as the traction control goes, the only way ive managed to delete it is by changing the value in the abs module +1. this turns traction control off but also the abs and u get the abs light and the red brake warning light on the dash. now there is 2 modules for for ESP but im not able to communicate with either of them, is this because I didn’t buy the pro version or is it just not possible at all to communicate with those modules?
jumped in the car today and got a cel. did an autoscan and this is what I got. I just replaced the rear o2s so im not sure why im getting those. is it possible I need spacers with the jhm exhaust?
the knock sensor worrys me. any help here is much appreciated. and whats the most common cause of misfires on the 4.2? heres the log.
5 Faults Found:
000818 - Knock Sensor 2 (G66)
P0332 - 002 - Signal too Low - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100010
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 255
Mileage: 151943 km
Time Indication: 0
None of them look real bad the misfire might be flap related. None of the miss fire or knock codes came back in the past 2 so that’s probably just isolated. The rear 02s might need changing. Clear the codes and check them in a week. Chances are none of them will come back. Keep an eye on the 02s tho they can cause issues.
as far as the manifold flap is concerned ive had this since I bought the car. I want to fix it. I really don’t think its a vacuum issue, theres no way I could have run the quarter mile times I have been with a vac leak.
I just want to know what all the likely causes are and ill replace everything.
I had a knock sensor die on me when I was still under warranty. Required manifold removal. I think there are 3 or 4 sensors. 2 require manifold pull. 2 don’t.
