Video: Racing a Stage II B8 S4 in my Stage III B5 S4 - copied from vendorzine...

quote for truth

One of the big issues is the RS4s are detuned stock and JHM is the only one that has been able to unlock these beasts. when you know the RS4 is held back stock you know that you have to hit just the right conditions to get the stock rs4 to not clamp down and kill all the power. If you help the stock rs4 enough and don’t get too cold of weather or two low of a DA it will perform

to end the entire debate.

if you have pump gas
B8 tune and exhaust
RS4 tune and exhaust
how do they stack up as thats the general mod list of most guys…

EDIT just saw Auditude3.0T’s post… from what you posted on your dads car and you car then yes there is an edge to the B8 on simple mods… Once again this B7+ gen is putting these kids in tere spots. the B5 fags

Pete you’re saying it but I don’t think you’re really fucking believing it.

I would loveeee to line up with all different types of N/A RS4’s. If anyone in the tri state is down lets meet up and do some runs. I only have a catback, tune/pulley and intake right now which is minimal stage 2 car. Plus i’m on the only B8.5 manual stage 2 file in the country and only 15psi so it should be fun once i get my finalized tune

Lolol

Other than the R8 GT or V10 +…do you really think anything is going to touch the B7 RS4 pump gas results? I don’t. Even if they do mod those R8s, are we seeing any quarter mile results from them? Nothing I’ve seen. There are a few supercharged R8s that run like mid 12s @ 120. It’s prety lame.

Actually that Turbo R8 from MRC is going to be interesting. Great engine too…4.2 FSI. lol.

judging by what i saw, itll take a supercharger lol

IT would be interesting… still for me the pulley changes things for me a bit in terms of how I would see a stage car. Tune exahust intake…ok pulley amps things up enough to where your boosting the power every where even down low… I would think say a JHM rs4 down lower say first gear roll will jump out on a non pulley B8 car with a tune exahust. That instant power of the RS4 down low and in the rev can be difficult to deal with. I see the B8 running down the NA rs4 at the top of each gear.

I see it as two close cars. I didn’t know on pump thye were that fast B8

^^^there’s an 11 second pump time for the B8 from Primetime.

what…fuck the B8s… now I hate them…

^^how come nobody ever developed a race gas tune for the APR blower? i.e. APR?

They ran 11.8 @ 116-117 on pump in decent DA (not great…I think it was 1000 feet) and had stock exhaust on the car. Wonder why they never pushed the envelope a little with race fuel on the 1320.

The Na 4.2s are great motors they don’t need the race gas to quiet down the motor noise and they can get rid of heat quite well on the exhaust cycle. I think Adding race gas to a supercharged rs4 car will help. I just don’t know that these guys want to push the envolope that much. Why knows where the limits of these motors are.

the AMD car pumped there chest andall and thts ggreat but on there run down the 1/4 they were bloing smoke the entire time. That says the rs4s can only take so much. jhm and apr seeem to be keeping things in perspective keeping hte boost down and keeping things on pump gas.

^^^I meant on the APR TVSr1320 kit. That’s nowhere near pushing the motor.

maybe they would rather make power with a larger saftey net? instead of maxing out the blower, they will make a heap of power while being able to back off on the bigger blower

3 years ago that bigger blower didn’t exist though. Not even a diagram.

The 1320 kit was pushed on pump gas when they got some tuning help, but even then they left some on the table. They never touched race gas.

I just found it weird because APR is a big fan of race gas applications with pretty much every other platform/product. i.e. yours. With the same blower. And more boost.

If we take the jspazz theory of race gas of 4 tenths and 4 mph, does that mean there’s an 11.4 @ 121 waiting for an APR RS4 TVSr1320 kit owner?

I don’t have enough knowledge on how much of an effect race gas makes on different platforms however i think that the APR kit has a mid 11 second pass in it, especially since with JHM Bolt ons it almost trapped 120.

I don’t know the 4.2FSI motor, but if race gas allows you to advance ignition timing by 5-7 degrees, and advancing timing increases MBT enough to realize 40whp increases like with the 3.0TFSI, then it’s possible, Sak.

The 4.2FSI as it sits all-motor probably does not have enough ignition timing advance/MBT gains on race gas. Remember APR and the RS5 tune…I think they were about .2/2 IIRC. 5 hp gain on race gas.

EDIT: 0.2/2 was the gain for the tune vs stock

There is a certain little 5-cylinder… ;D

I’m sure that things going to be nasty! ;D

actually they sound remarkably similar

good luck getting a 2.5 five cylinder to trap 126 on pump!
