^^^when you do track rentals, post them up here and we may have a couple (or few) guys who want to attend and be punching bags for the big HP cars to ass rape.
Remembered that I had an incar video of one of my passes. I don’t know what the other car is. Some kind of Mazda. Looked really nice. Mazda 3? Mazda speed something? I have no idea. Let me know so I can put it in the video.
speed warning I think. I was really low on fuel by then. Long past the warning.
I reset my fuel efficiency monitor thing when I got to the track. Even though you’re hammering it, you also cruise along after the run, and between the runs etc. Didn’t matter. averaged 8 MPG lol
Very cool…AMS is a very big company and I have discovered they are everywhere lol…There is a lot of interest in the Audi brand and as I am sure you are all well aware - there is a very significant modding path for all of the different Audi platforms. Even Underground Racing is modding R8 V10’s now (they came in second or third at the Texas Invitational last weekend).
I’m excited about the build - and a little wary. I have done the mile with my R1K and hit 213 MPH (my Vbox said 215 lol) - and that was quite intense. The Alpha 16 will hit 215 MPH in the 1/2 mile - and depending how it is geared 240-250 MPH in the mile. I’m not sure if I have the cajones for that. 1/4-1/2 mile - I’m okay. That’s why I am most looking forward to the side by side roll event as we won’t be racing for more than 1500-2000 feet - so we won’t hit much more than 200 MPH. UR will be there and likely kick my butt anyway (the TT Lambos - and R8 V10’s - rule the roll - significantly)…
Lol - I do not underestimate ANY car - there is always someone faster (dammit).
I will certainly let everyone know of any and all track days. I would very much appreciate any track day suggestions from anyone on here as well as I will need a great deal of test and tune.
Here’s a compillation of the first 4 passes. The first was a shakedown of sorts, although I kind of went after it on the launch.
The next 3 were actually the 3 best passes of the day. Go figure…no cooldown, 50 minute drive, and there’s my three best, hotlapped literally as you can see. It was just the three of us (VTKNIGHT, myself and the BMW you can see in one of the vids). I guess density altitude was best early on so that makes sense.
During the passes in this vid, I added the times (60, 1/8, 1/4) as popups on the screen. Annoys the shit out of me when people post 1/4 mile vids without times, so this way they’re there. Desktop only I think but still good for the numbers nerds like me.
tires did change. For the worse. The ones I had before were directional and had a better pattern for launching. The after tires were Michelin Pilot SS, which have large channeled grooves and suck for traction at launch. Fortunately the car is a little stronger now so I was still able to get some good 60’ times.
Still, they’re both street tires and that’s all I care about. Not too interested in benchmarking my car in a form that I don’t drive it on the street (i.e. slicks, etc)…since I am indeed just benchmarking the car. I’m there for fun, but I frankly don’t care about absolute results (if I was really racing the clock, I would unbolt all the seats, take off my exhaust and run open headers, and put 4 slicks on 15 lb wheels and run something amazing). I just care about relative street results.
Understood. The reason I ask is the 60’ change - which is about 1 tenth better at the lights and (appropriately) two tenths better at the towers. It would seem that you can in fact attribute your increase in ET and MPH strictly to the exhaust. Its a solid time and MPH Saki…I’m interested to know what’s next…
Not sure what’s next. Tune, and LW parts would make a lot of sense. I’m in no rush though to be honest, so I will bide my time. I would love to throw down a 12.4 @ 111.X first before changing anything. Maybe if it’s cold enough at some point here this spring or next fall.
The JHM supercharger is pretty excellent value at $7900 for their entry level kit which should be good for an approximate 100-125 hp gain from where I sit right now. We have seen half a dozen of them run in the 11s @ 118, similar to your car. Pump gas of course. Fastest one so far went 11.62 I believe.
Their stage 2 supercharger is mental. They’ve run 10.9 @ 129 on pump gas, and even faster when you jack up the octane a litlte. Massive A/W intercooler and 8 PSI from the Vortech V3 Si.
The stage 1 SC seems like a no brainer. Probably maintains great street ability too.
I have a great GTR so I don’t fear warranty - are you cool with modding when it’s visible?
It’s not my money - but I’ve found warranty to not be too helpful until after it runs out lol.
Includes upgraded fuel pumps and the cooling. They are still perfecting the install process of the stage 2. Making adjustments. Just changed the inlet design I believe.
Lol - that’s an interesting question (not the small screen) - but whether 12K versus 8k has more value.
Personally - I would say yes as I like the supporting hardware (pumps and cooling) - as you want to not worry about stock components failing. Smaller blower you are still going to have warranty issues - so that is not a factor. Obviously theres the extra 4K - but in the long run its likely a better buy overall. 8K is 67% of 12K. So that’s more than half-way there…
Plus you will smoke my E63 S and many bolt on GTR’s that I know with a solid high 10 run at 130 MPH.
