Haha, it’s rarely about the price and much more about what appeals to your interest. Some of the big expensive guys have copied hits from the everyday guys, just put their name and some bling to it to make a ridiculous markup.

Fossil makes great watches IMO. They actually make a lot of the bigger name brand watches, Michael Kors, Burberry, etc.
Tried out a bunch of nice watches last night btw. Narrowed it down to these three… Seamaster XL, Tag Carrera, and Tag Link. Seamaster is sick, but I don’t think it’s my style… I really like the Tag’s in person, I think Link is my favorite so far… and it’s like half the price of everything else lol.

You’re about 5 seconds early. You know I was thinking about this the whole thread, why, so i looked it up a couple days ago. Apparently it’s not just so you can see the watch features, it’s because that shape is like a smile and subconsciously positive. Someone else I know who does marketing graphics said “because it’s the shape of pussy” lol. I thought then 5 after 11 would have hit the mark better though.
I wondered about that for years and years. Like before the Internet. Someone said it’s to frame the name, which is traditionally in that spot.
Anyone have a Movado in their collection? I just tried on a few and really liked them, very classy watch for under $1000. Never considered them before as they look like crap in the pictures I’ve seen.
I think I might get a “his and her” set of movado’s instead of just getting one expensive watch for myself… Can’t put a price on brownie points with the gf

Here is my collection. I wear the far left one pretty much when im lounging around. The middle two i wear for work everyday (depending how what suit i wear) or when i go out dressed nicely. The far right one i wear at Car shows, driving events etc. I plan on getting a brown one soon as well. All Tag Heuer.

I love my Movado its my favourite watch ever, simple, classy and thin. I hate when watches catch on everything. my Movado was over 1000 bucks though.
I also have a bulova that I really like in 2 tone. im a big fan of classic yellow gold so whatever I wear will have some gold. the bulovas are really nice for 100-500 dollar range.
I would love a breitling but the one I want is 15k and ill never justify that kinda cake on a watch. I think their cheapest watch starts at 4k kinda like rolex.

I won a watch at a golf tournament that I am thinking I will give away. It’s funny how hard it is to sell a watch. I put it online for sale at half the retail price and no takers.

Watchuseek is probably the best online market place for second hand sales of watches. I’d post it up there.
All jewelry is kinda like that. A watch with a retail price tag of $6,995 could usually be picked up for under $5k at a nice jewler, so that means the used market is only worth $3-4k in very good condition.
